Epsom Salt is one of the most common forms of magnesium sulfate. Epsom Salt is a hydrated salt with seven molecules of water, so caking should not be a significant problem. Care should be taken, however, to protect the material if it is stored in the granular form for long periods of time, the material should always be tightly capped and handled with dry hands or instruments until ready to use. This salt is readily soluble in water is colorless and solid at ambient temperatures, it’s formed in small needle-like rhombic crystals. The magnesium and the sulfate which make up these salts are easily absorbed thru the skin. Baths taken with Epsom Salt are used for detoxifying.
For a relaxing, detoxifying bath add 2 cups of Epsom Salt to the water in a standard bathtub, soak at least 3 times a week. You may add essential oils to the water for added medicinal benefits. INCI: Magnesium sulphate.
