Almond, sweet, oil, 1 lb. |
You will receive 1 lb of oil, dispensed by weight. Almond (Sweet) Prunus amygdalus, P. dulcis: Sweet almond oil is obtained from the nut of the tree, which is native to Asia and the Mediterranean. This oil is a favorite carrier oil for essential oil aromatherapy blends, although it’s often used by itself for moisturizing skin. The oil has no scent and is a great nutrient for softening and conditioning the skin. It's been known to be especially suitable for eczema, itchy, dry and inflamed skin. Since it contains glucosides, vitamins and minerals, it makes a fabulous massage oil. Sweet almond oil is widely used in lotions, lotion bars, balms and soap; it saponifies easily and produces a mild soap with very good lather. This oil can be used as a large percentage of the fats or as an oil added at trace. It’s recommended that you add just one ounce per pound of fats to the soap batch. Some users find that this oil goes rancid quickly, others feel they have no problem with the shelf life of almond oil. Sweet almond should be stored in a cool place or refrigerated. SAP value: 192.5. INCI: Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil.
Our Sweet almond oil is edible and is high in monounsaturated fat; these fats are typically liquid at room temperature, but solidify when refrigerated. Consuming foods high in monounsaturated fats may reduce the risk of heart attacks. Instead of sauteeing that chicken in butter, try almond oil. It’s a delicious way to do something good for your heart.

Aloe Vera liquid (clear), 1 lb. |
You will receive 1 lb. of oil, dispensed by weight.
Aloe Vera Gel, Decolorized 1X, from concentrate: Aloe Vera Gel, Decolorized, is a colorless liquid (this is not a gel!!) which is a highly refined grade of Aloe Vera Gel for use in cosmetics, toiletries and OTC pharmaceuticals. The process begins with freshly harvested leaves of the Aloe Vera Barbadensis Miller variety of Aloe. The inner gel (filet) is carefully removed to minimized disruption of the Aloin layer. The gel is then further processed to remove the pulp and fiber. The resultant gel is then pasteurized and preserved to maintain its efficacy. The gel is “decolorized” through a special proprietary process to remove the color bodies and reduce odor to ensure color stability and to minimize Aloe’s inherent pungency. It is already diluted 1 to 1 in distilled water. Some uses: Sun care and after sun products, hand & body lotions, skin cleansers, hair conditioners, anti-drandruff shampoos, facial moisturizers, shaving & depilatory preparations, bath oils, rubs & liniments, ointments, first aid creams, anti-acne preparations, topical analgesics. Percentage to use: If you are using Aloe Vera Oil Extract in a product formulation primarily to have it appear on the label, then concerns about the percentage to use (say below 5% SSE) are really immaterial. However, if you want the product to perform better because of the presence of the Aloe Vera Oil Gel, then try using 10% SSE or more. Storage: Store at or slightly below room temperature, away from light. If you want to meet the certification requirements fo the International Aloe Science Council, your finished product must contain a minimum of 15% Aloe Vera. This is a natural product which will darken with age. Protect from oxidation, store at room temperature away from light. INCI: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice. SAP value: None.

Aloe Vera Gel (clear) ( 43 lbs.) |
Aloe Vera Gel, sold by weight in a pail, 43 lbs. ($7.40/lb.)
This is a clear to slightly hazy viscous gel which should be stored at room temperature protected from oxidation; this product may darken in color over time but will still be fine to use. This is a “gel” product, not a liquid, and is very cool to the touch. This product is an exclusive blend of Aloe Vera Gel and Glyceryl Polymethacrylate in combination with a small amount of Propylene Glycol to stabilize the gel.
Some uses: Sun care and after sun products, hand & body lotions/gels, skin cleansers, hair detanglers/moisturizers, liposome gel base, styling/sculpting gels, facial moisturizers, shaving & depilatory preparations, rubs & liniments, ointments, first aid gels, anti-acne preparations, topical analgesics, as a moisturizing base. Percentage to use: Depending on the application, you will most likely want to use 10% or greater, some preparations may require 80-95% Aloe Gel. Use it as a base into which other ingredients may be blended. Aloe Gel may also be used “as is” for a supermoisturizing gel for skin or hair care.
CAUTION: This product should be handled with clean disposable gloves and with clean and disinfected equipment. The slightest bit of contamination will make this product develop mold. We no longer sell this product in smaller sizes to avoid our having to open the factory-sealed pail and handling the product at our facility. The pail will be shipped, unopened, in the same fashion in which it was sanitarily packed by the manufacturer. What happens to this product after you open it and handle it will be your responsibility, we will not accept returns of this product should mold eventually develop and we will not issue refunds for unused portions of this product which you may not be able to use at a later date. We only keep a couple of these pails in stock at all times. If we need to place a restocking order for you, we will ship as soon as your fresh pail of Aloe Vera Gel arrives and this may take 3-5 business days.

Sold by weight. Ricinus communis L. This oil, derived from the castor bean and obtained by cold pressure, is rich in fatty acids and very moisturizing and lubricating to the skin in general. It acts as a humectant, attracting moisture to the skin. Castor oil packs applied with warm flannel are believed effective for pain relief and to “draw out” cysts, boils and warts.
Ayurvedic medicine has long used castor oil for lumbago, sciatica and rheumatism. In the Canary Islands the oil is used to prevent sore nipples in nursing mothers and is also rubbed onto their scalps to prevent post natal hair loss. In soapmaking, although castor oil would appear to require less sodium hydroxide, it sometimes requires more due to its high ricinoleic acid content. It’s also a well-known superfatting agent and well suited for shampoo bars and skin-care products. Without other oils, it produces a transparent soft soap. In combination with over vegetable oils, however, it makes a wonderfully emollient, hard bar of soap. SAP value: 180.3. INCI: Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil.
From folk medicine: Castor oil fomentations are recommended for ridding the body of hardened mucus in the form of cysts, tumors and polyps. The castor oil is applied by soaking a flannel cloth in the oil and applying it over the liver. A hot water bottle or electric heating pad is applied on top of the pack and left on the area for 30 to 60 minutes. This is repeated daily for three days followed by olive oil massages over the same area for three days. On the seventh day, it is recommended by some that the patient should rest by fasting on nothing but distilled water. Depending on the particular case, this procedure should be repeated for between six weeks to six months to properly cleanse the system.
Materials Needed To Make A Castor Oil Pack (1) Three layers of natural, uncolored wool or flannel cotton large enough to cover the area being treated. (2) Castor oil. (3) Plastic wrap large enough to cover the cloth. (4) Hot water bottle or electric blanket. Procedure: (1) Soak cotton with castor oil. It should be saturated but not dripping. (2) Place the pack on the area being treated, for example lower right abdomen [liver]. (3) Cover the pack with plastic wrap and place a hot water bottle over the pack. (4) Leave the pack on for 30-60 minutes. Use the castor oil pack 3-7 days per week. Precautions include avoiding meal times, not using the pack during heavy menses, and avoiding contact with fabric that could become stained. The same pack may be used for weeks or months. Refresh with additional oil if necessary. Conditions are said to have been responsive to castor oil applications include (please consult with a health care professional before you apply a castor pack; the information we provide below is just that, information which is readily available to all either in books or on the web): skin keratosis; ringworm, fungal and bacterial infections; wounds; abdominal stretch marks (prevention); bursitis; sebaceous cysts; warts; liver or age spots; muscle strains; ligament sprains; itching; chronic fluid retention with swollen joints and pain; arthritis; upper respiratory infections involving the sinuses, tonsils and inner ear; colon problems involving inflammation; gallbladder disease; boils; liver cirrhosis; hepatitis; menstrual-related congestion; constipation, bowel impaction or adhesions; bladder and vaginal infections.

Coconut oil 76 deg., 7 lbs. |
Sold by product weight: 7.00 lbs. (dispensed in a 1 gallon pail, depending on other items in your order, this product may have to ship in a box by itself.)
Cocos nucifera
Coconut oil is obtained from copra, the dried """"meat"""" of coconut. Distillers separate the copra from the hull of the coconut. It is dried, crushed, and then expressed to remove the oil. This coconut becomes liquid at 76 degrees. When cold it becomes solid or semi-solid. Some people might call coconut oil, coconut butter. Both are the same thing. This oil has a thick texture with no taste and no odor. A percentage of coconut oil in cosmetics is moisturizing; too much of it can be drying. Its saturated nature resists rancidity and makes a very hard soap, while at the same time producing a fluffy lather. Soapmakers usually combine coconut oil with olive, palm, palm kernel or castor oils for an all-vegetable soap. Some soapmakers use between 20% and 30% of a soap batch as coconut oil. SAP value: 268.0. INCI: Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil
Coconut Oil contains beneficial lauric acid, which may be of particular benefit for immune-suppressed individuals. It is more heat stable than other plant based oils and does not create trans fatty acids when cooked at higher temperatures.
Use for all higher heat applications, including stir frying - Maximum temperature of 375F or 190C. Excellent for baking, can be substituted for butter in most recipes. Use in blender drinks to add fuel and energy in the morning.
