This butter surprised me. I asked for a sample to try with my order, as I had never seen Acai butter before. It is just as described, a pale purple colour (very neat!) and a very mild odour. The scent was almost undetectable but I think that's what you want from a butter which is going to be an additive (for the nutrients) more than the main star. This is a great addition to a cream blend. When it melts down, it seems a little grainy but when you mix it with other butters (I mixed with shea), it loses that texture. By the time it goes on the skin, it is very creamy and sinks in very well. If you are using as an "additive", a little bit will go a long way and it has a lot of great vitamins and anti-oxidants in it to help boost the power of your cream!
Thank you for sending this sample with my recent first order. I tried the acai butter right away, straight, on my hands. It sinks in nicely and left a few bits of acai fruit "sand" behind and a sort of clean, waxy scent. I imagine it would make a great addition to a pedicure bar I am working on. With all the nutrients in acai, it would add a lot of value to my product.
I use this in my lemongrass body butter. I also tried it in my lip balms but I did not like the pieces of berry, it seemed a bit gritty,it is so popular in so many products i think just seeing it on my ingredient label helps sell my butter, but how do you say it any way lol
Thank you for the freebie!
This butter was in a sampler pack that y'all included in my latest order. What a fun surprise to find! Thank you - it is a very interesting butter, and I am inclined to agree with the reviewer that said you could use this as a stand alone lip balm - and I am seriously considering replacing my own original formula with this - it's that nice! And I love the little specs of color in the butter from the berries!
This butter is so beautiful! Smooth & Creamy it is! And I personally love the color of this butter. Probably part because purple is one of my favorite colors, lol, but definitely love the fact it has color. I had other people try a little, since I always rave that natural butters would put there lotions to shame. They loved it! Tried to get more. SMH get your own, now you know lol. Def try this....
Doesn't smell too sweet but it does have an undertone of sweetness. What i love about this butter is the creamy texture. I used small chunks in my M&P soap to create a face soap for myself. I love it!!! It was sooo moisterizing and left my skin smooth and soft but not greasy.
Smooth and Creamy
You could use this straight out of the jar as a lip balm and never go back to your old one. It also works well as about 20-30% of a lip balm recipe (for tubes). I'd use it more often, but the color can get in the way. It doesn't show up on your lips, but it does show in a tube so it may be deceiving or thought of as unattractive.
