Amazing

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

This is my customers favorite scent, I use this scent as my main scent for my blend of butters. My customers have mentioned the lavender helps calm their eczema. Great quality oil.

Great multi-tasker

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

This lavender has a lovely, slightly herbaceous scent. Not as sweet as french lavender. A perfect, all-purpose lavender! I use it for soap, lotion, scented sprays, salves... even directly on a wound, since lavender is the only essential oil that's safe to apply neat (undiluted.) It's great for healing, mood lifting and promoting sleep.

Wonderful

I found this oil to be extremely therapeutic and cost effective. I have problems with sleep and relaxing, and just small amounts of this oil diluted and spritzed onto pillows or what-not does the trick for me!

Good for fragrance, not for therapeutic use

This lavender oil is very sweet and camphorous which makes it perfect for soap and any other product requiring a relaxing fragrance. Good quality.

A beautiful scent!

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I was looking for a more floral scent of lavendar and this is it! I will be using this to scent my creations as it has a lighter camphorous and more floral and sweet scent. Beautiful choice for soapers!

Lavender, like it's supposed to smell

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

This one seems to be a nice medium throw for the scent. It's not nauseatingly lavender, and it doesn't have that nasty medicinal undertone that some lavender EO's have. This is probably "the" lavender to buy for scenting products, if you want a nice somewhat floraly scent without the undertone. It does have a light, almost musky undertone. Smells divine with the patchouli to ground it out.

Great smelling lavender

This is my least favorite of Camden's lavenders but it's still head and shoulders above some of the lavenders other companies offer ( hence the 5 stars). This is a great, yet affordable EO to use in CP soaps.

Excellent product

I have tried many different brands of lavender eo and I keep coming back to Camden to purchase this one! I use it in my skin creams, liquid soaps and even put a few drops on my kids pillows for them to fall asleep. This is an excellent quality product and the price is right!

Must Have!

Great Lavender

I am new to soapmaking and my customers had a fit over the lavender. It is currently my best selling soap. It is not to strong or to weak of a smell. The smell is just perfect. Thanks Camden-Grey for this product at such a resonable price.

Perfect for CP soap

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

this is a great lavender for CP soap - wonderful scent and not too expensive. The Bulgarian lavender is still my favorite for fine lotions and oil treatments but it is too costly for CP soap. The 40/42 delivers a dreamy lavender fragrance at a much lower cost.

A MUST HAVE

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

You simply cannot go wrong with this great lavendar essential oil. It blends well with other essential oils and truly gives a relaxing lavendar aroma in whatever you add it to. This one is a MUST HAVE. Fantastic job Camden Grey!!!!

DA BOMB!

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I have purchased Lavender 40/42 from almost every online dealer out there and what I wasted is a ton of $$$. Let me save you time and money; buy Camden-Grey's Lavender. I swear that this is the best lavender I have smelled. It has a very true lavender scent and it's pretty strong. Other companies have either too much of a camphor smell or too weak a scent. I hope Camden-Grey keeps selling this excellent and superior quality lavender!

Quality Lavender

I've used other lavender essential oil products, but with Camden Greys Lavender you know your getting the real thing. I love lavender in my facial products and lotions. You can feel the benefits right away.

THE Best!

I have bought and shelved many lavenders. This one is the ONLY one I will buy and have done so for 7 years. It is always consistent Clean fresh true lavender scent. Great price.

I decided to order me some of this essential oil because I heard of its many benefits. I added a couple of drops to my shower gel and it made a good product even better. I also added this to my personal oil blend and have noticed that the shine of my hair has improved greatly. I know the supply I ordered will last me a while but when I run out I know to not order it anywhere else.

Excellent!

I made a lotion using grapeseed oil, rosemary, lavender and tea tree EO's and have been applying it daily to two sores that I have had on my nose for a long time. They are finally healing up! It is taking a while, but it is working! I also put some in my apple cider hair rinse. It smells great and is wonderful for my dry, itchy scalp! I also put this and tea tree oil in my homemade dish soap for anti-bacterial properties.

Great!

The ideal Lavender

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

We love this Lavender! It has the perfect blend of sweet floral and just the slightest "bite" of camphor to it. Even people who say they don't like Lavender LOVE our soaps made with it. It handles high heat exceptionally well, and blends with just about everything.

Best Lavender essential oil I have found!

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I have been making soap for 8 years and this Lavender essential oil is THE BEST I have found. I wear it on my body as perfume, I put it in my kids baths and I use it in soaps, lotions and body sprays. I can't get enough of it!! Thank you Camden Grey for taking the time and caring about the quality of your products.

Strong in a Good Way!

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

The oil that I received has a very strong scent which I wasn't crazy about at first sniff. However, I was pleasantly surprised and found that it mixed well with salts and soaps. The scent holds well and also mixes well when used sparingly in facial masks.

Lavender for sweet dreams

I get so many complements on my soap when I use this Lavender 40/42. I use dried lavender petals in the soap and can't keep it in my shop! One of the favorites! THANK YOU!

A multitude of benefits in one bottle!

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I have always enjoyed fruity and spicy rather than floral scents and so originally intended to purchase a "sample" size bottle of lavender to try out in my CP soap. However, both my research into the myriad health benefits of this E.O. and the online reviews convinced me to go with a much larger bottle. I'M SO GLAD I DID!!! This oil is healthful, affordable, extremely versatile, and best of all, EVERYONE in my household enjoys the scent! Even my very picky young daughter asks me to rub a few drops through her hair to help her sleep at night.

Perfect Lavender

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

This lavender is so great....I use it in my CP soap and the smell is amazing....I sell at a outdoor market and people can smell my soaps way to the end of the rows. Excellent quality with a great price.

Excellent for cat scratches

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

With a house full of cats, we always keep lavender essential oil on hand in large (8-ounce) jars. Lavender essential oil is mildly analgesic and antiseptic; according to some studies, it also stimulates cell growth (and therefore speeds healing). So when we get those inevitable cat scratches (the kitties don't mean it, but their claws are sharp!), we get out the lavender oil and spread it on the scratches. The pain goes away instantly and the scratches don't swell as they would if not treated. Having the 40/42 on hand is nice because it does the same job but isn't as expensive.

Lovely Lavender

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I was a little skeptical about this oil being that it had a fraction in the name, but I purchased it and made my C.P. soap and the smell was truly lavender. All my customers buy this scent first! I was pleasantly surprised at how well the scent holds up on C.P. soap. Excellent choice- great scent- affordable price.

Stronger and sweeter than French and Bulgaria lavender

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

Long ago I ordered the much more expensive French and Bulgarian lavender varieties (also from Camdengrey) because I was wary about the linalyl acetate content as an artificial ingredient. Eventually I found that it is a chemical that occurs naturally in lavender and many other flowers, so I ordered some to compare to my older stock (yes they last a long long time!) The 40/42 smells stronger and sweeter than its brethren. If you are blending lavender with other milder smelling oils, you may want to use the French kind. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with the 40/42 for both quality and price.

Wonderful aroma

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I used this in a CP milk soap recipe and it smelled magnificent. I had used other lavender e.o's in the recipe and this one definitely gave the "truest" lavender scent. My customers love it.

Best Lavender I've Used

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

This is the best Lavender I have used. I have used 40/42 from other suppliers, but the quality and aroma was not sweet enough. Customers love this! I will def. be purchasing more within the next month or so!!

Yes, Yes, Yes....buy this Lavender!

Shame on me! I can't believe I haven't written a review for the Lavender yet as long as I've been using it. I have tried many, but this one is exceptional in my soaping! I use it on my baby every night. It is so relaxing and half the price of other places. Excellent product, excellent price!

Lovely

This lavender essential oil is the truest scent I have found to the real lavender plant. I love it in my soap and bath salts; so do my customers!

My most Essential, Essential Oil!!!

I Love this wonderful Lavender scent and this is my # 1 ingredient in 90% of my products so far. Definitely a must have! This is a perfect Mid to Top tone in all my blending.

Even my husband likes this!

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I've been making soaps at home for a year now and usually my husband sniffs them, makes a face and hides in his office. This EO makes lovely CP soaps that he can't put down. We usually think of florals for the ladies, but this lavender produces a scent in my soaps that my father and stepfather like, too!

Beautifully fragrant with hundreds of uses.

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I use this oil for so many things, in soaps, perfumes, bath salts, massage oils, and cleaning products. It is my favorite oil to clean with, mixed with baking soda it is great for getting smells from pets and smoke out of furniture and carpets. Mixed with rosemary oils it can be combined with many body products to relieve bumps and bruises, and used alone it can be dabbed on cuts to promote healing and prevent scarring. Because I use so much of it, I adore the price on this website, I haven't found oil of a similar quality for less money anywhere.

Excellent Lavender

I have been using CG Lavender for a few years now and it is definitely a reliable excellent lavender. I have used a few others but when I need quantity and quality nobody beats Camden Grey for value. The best.

Lovely lavender!

This is absolutely my favorite EO. I've used it in CP soap, body butters, lotion bars, solid perfumes & salves. I've tried lavender EO from other sources, but came back to Camden Grey for this wonderful EO! It is the EO I use most often and is in almost every order I place at CG. It is the best quality for a great price.

Beautiful... Just Beautiful

I have both this and the Bulgarian Lavender and I love them both this one has a nice smell and does just what lavender is know to do, heal and lift the spirit.

Amazing!

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I'm new to soapmaking, I've only been doing it for a few months, and so I haven't had a lot of exposure to different types of EO's and FO's, but even I can tell that this is wonderful. In addition to soap, I've used it to scent my room, bubble baths, and my hair, and all were absolutely magnificent. I will definitely buy more of this wonderful product!

Best-smelling Lavender

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I've long been a fan of Camden Grey's essential oils, especially their Lavender 40/42. I recently got curious, however, and also purchased their French, Bulgarian, and Maillette Lavenders to compare. I share my "research" with all of you! 40/42 Both sharp and quintessentially lavender smelling. Oil in a diffuser, on the skin, or on fabric mellows out over time. The progression goes form sharp and pleasant to more floral and herbaceous, and then mellows out earthy and a little woodsy. Bulgaria Finer than 40/42, but most similar to it in terms of its complexity. Both sharp terpine notes and warm, soft floral notes ... This, to me, smells much like 40/42 after it has mellowed a little bit. French Very fine, soft, even delicate scent. Reminds me most of Lavender flowers on the plant. Less sharp and more herbaceous, it is the most "floral" smelling as well, in my opinion. It is really lovely, but a little dull in comparison to 40/20 and the Bulgarian Lavender oils. Maillette This one reminds me of 40/42 after it's dried up. It is warm and very mild, almost woodsy, very earthy with a little sharpness. It actually reminds me of chemicals used to treat wood, or the wood in a new house. It is not an offensive smell, but definitely the least floral and "lavender"-ish of the four. My final two cents: 40/42 seems the best choice for flexible use -- used neat, as aromatherapy, in perfumes, soaps, etc. It is the most hearty and also (according to its description) is designed with consistency in mind. Bulgaria is a finer version of 40/42, I think, perhaps suited equally well for aromatherapy and being used neat. I'm no soapmaker or perfumer, but I would venture to guess this one is a bit too delicate to be diluted with other stuff. French is lovely and the least sharp, but also delicate -- perhaps most lavender-ish on its own, but again, I wonder if it would get lost when mixed with other components. Maillette is the least lavender-y of the bunch and I cannot imagine it being any more useful than 40/42, as 40/42 is both the best smelling (in my opinion) and most affordable. Hope this was helpful! Cheers! Thanks, Camden Grey; I love you!

Lavender is Top Notch

Thank you so much for offering this item. I have used it in both cold process and hot process soap making and it has real staying power which is what I need for soaps. I don't know what the flashpoint is but I added it to 180 degree hot process batch of soap and did not have any problems. Thanks again! I found my lavender!

Great All Purpose Lavender

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I used this up so quickly! I have tried a few different varieties of lavenders, Croatian and French. This is a sweeter, lighter, less herbal lavender that can be used in cosmetics and soap. Great price.

Favorite Lavender

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

This is my favorite lavender so far. I've smelled about 8 varieties, and used 2 prior to this, and this is my favorite. As per usual with Camden Grey, the quality is high, and the price is better than most places.

Fabulous

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

This is the best Lavender 40/42 I have come across. Not too overpowering and most importantly it holds extremely well in CP soap

very nice

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I'm not a big fan of lavender, but this essential oil is very nice. I mixed it with citrus (lime and manderin orange) in melt and pour. The lavender give the citrus some staying power and enhances the scent. Great product.

Many uses

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I used way to much in my first batch of salt scrub so I added it to shampoo I use for my dogs and it really got rid of the fleas and ticks. I will use it more frequently.

Excellent and highly versatile

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

This is one of the best 40/42s I've found. As other reviewers have noted, its immediate scent is more medicinal than the French or maillette varieties (dentate or angustifolis). I tend to use this one more for cleaning and home-healing purposes and less for direct body applications such as massages or baths. However, it is a great travel kit addition, especially when in the outdoors, as it can help with everything from cuts to whelps from poisonous plants to blisters on the feet (it also keeps the tent and backpack smelling nice, especially when the dirty clothes start adding up). This is cost-effective and highly useful, and C-G's price is hard to beat.

Stubborn Wound Aide

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I've used lavender on my pets for years for everything from ringworm to tears in the skin. It's my number 1 first aide product for treating just about everything with them. Sometimes I will combine it with tea tree, Myrrh and grapefruit seed extract as well. Works super well with the dreaded "Florida sores". My horse had a bad one on her face that just wouldn't heal because of flys and gnats. I added a couple of drops to the sore and within one day the swelling was gone, within 3 days the sore had healed about 50% and I'd tried everything before becoming hooked on lavender. I've been hooked ever since!

Still Great After 2 Years!

I used to use Lavender from another supplier and changed to Camden Grey. I was able to compare the two and Camden Grey's lavender was much better than the one I used to use. I am in the process of changing my supplier over to Camden Grey!

Simply the Best!

The quality of Camden's Lavender essential oil cannot be matched...it blends very well with the other oils that I use in my hair sprays and the fragrance is very pleasant and fresh. My customers especially love my Lavender hair spray. I have been purchasing my Oils from this company for about 6 years now. I am thoroughly satisfied with the product and the price.

The Oil that is ESSENTIAL

Rating: 5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5

I have been using Lavender EO in so many ways for many years. It is anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal, so it makes it great for wounds, especially as it is one of the few EOs that can be used neat on skin. It is also great for use with those with anxiety issues, depression, or just general stress. Beyond that, Lavender has such a wide variety of uses that I consider it THE ESSENTIAL OIL in anyone's "kit".

This is great stuff!

These EOs are the best! I am very happy with all of .my purchases and there have been several! I am about to order more tonight. The Lavender 40/42 works wonderful for my aromatherapy bath scrubs

a very consistent scent

Rating: 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5

I have been ordering the Lavender 40/42 essential oil from Camden-Grey for about 4 years and the scent has been very consistent for an essential oil. It does have a bit more of a menthol scent than the "fine french" variety, but is excellent when used in soapmaking.

There are better lavender oils

Rating: 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5

The underlying scent of camphor still comes through in Lavandula officinalis. While it is a reasonably priced oil for inclusion in soaps, lotions, etc., I was surprised at its rather "medicinal" scent. While more expensive, the Lavandula angustifolia has a more subtle, pleasing aroma.

Reply from Camden-Grey: Since 1998 we have been offering Lavender 40/42 from the same distiller, it's our #1 selling Lavender essential oil. Its staying power and wonderful aroma in finished products are two of the reasons customers keep reordering this EO.
