Make a Dry Oil Moisturizing Spray with Essential Oils
As summer swings into full gear, what better way to get your skin ready for sun and swimsuits than with a luxurious dry oil moisturizing spray, made with essential oils? This is a wonderful recipe that you can make yourself, simply and easily. It smells great and moisturizes well!
Commercial witch hazel
1 tablespoon sweet almond oil or fractionated coconut oil
6 drops of Vitamin E oil
6 drops of lavender essential oil (I use 40/42, Bulgarian or French)4 drops of frankincense essential oil
2 drops of geranium essential oil
2 ounce GLASS or aluminum spray bottle
Recipe is sized to create one 2 oz glass spray bottle of dry oil moisturizing spray. Quantities can easily be increased, however, to make as much dry oil moisturizing spray as you would like. (Perhaps you’d like to share a few bottles with your friends?)
1. Add sweet almond oil/fractionated coconut oil, Vitamin E and essential oils to the 2 oz. glass/aluminum spray bottle.
Fill remainder of bottle with commercial witch hazel.
Mixture WILL separate. So, remember to shake every time you are about to use the moisturizing spray!
Spray on your skin whenever you wish, and rub the spray into the skin!
Each of these ingredients has a specific purpose in the recipe:
Commercial Witch Hazel: Contains alcohol, which preserves the mixture and is an astringent. Cools and moisturizes skin.
Sweet Almond Oil: Moisturizing
Vitamin E: Protects skin from the elements and serves as an antioxidant for the Sweet Almond Oil.
Lavender Essential Oil: Heals and protects skin, smells great!
Frankincense Essential Oil: Helps with aging skin issues and heals scarring. Also smells great and anchors scent blend (base note).
Geranium Essential Oil: Promotes healing of skin and toning. Smells great!
