    My Favorite Smell.

I saw this getting an honorable mention at the end of a top 10 list. In my book, it's in the top 3. I rely on this stuff too much. I have to force myself to stay away from it so I can learn how to make new kinds of blends. Everybody who smells it in my soaps loves it. Smells a little bit like lemon, but has a certain additional sweetness. You can't get enough of the smell.

I agree with other reviewers on this essential oil providing staying power for other citrus oils, but the true reason this one shines so bright is how well it covers or blends with other less desirable scents. Carrot seed oil is a very strong, full scent in creams. No matter how little is used, you will smell it. Until Litsea! I added this in and voila!- no more waxy carrot smell. If you're looking for something to cover or pair for a better scent, do give this a try. It's my new EVERYTHING oil.

if you like citronella, or lemongrass this is just like them except it is slightly more lemony fruity. It smells very good on its own and Mixed with verbena fragrance oil. wish i had bought a bigger bottle.

Litsea smells great on its own so fresh and lemony. But for me it's most useful as an anchor for citrus blends. It's also great for non-citrus blends to add a bright, fresh note. It's been fun trying to blend with other essential oils. I haven't found a essential oil that Litsea didn't pair well with!
    Great anchor for CP soap

Like many others, I primarily use this as an anchor in CP soap. It's a great way to get that citrus scent to stay in your soap at a good price. Ends up saving you money because it cuts down the amount of "flighty" citrus oils you must use in your recipe.
    Great Fixative

Litsea is also a great fixative for flighty citrus oils in CP soap. As it's already citrusy smelling, you can combine it with your citrus EOs before adding to the rest of your EOs. It really kept the lime in my cedar-lime salt bar. Cost-effective as well.
    Fresh, citrus smell EO.

Crisp citrus scent, close to lemon with a lemongrass undertone. Holds well in CP soap. Lovely on its own & blends well with many other essential oils, great price and quality.

I use litsea cubeba to anchor scents, straight, and mixed with lavender and tea tree. It's a staple that I have on-hand at all times. The versatility is a big plus. I like the lemon-like smell better than actual lemon in my blends and find that the litsea lasts quite a bit longer. It is a great addition to most citrus scents and many herbal (mint, rosemary, etc).
    Really good

I did some research on oils to use in a citrus blend for CP soap that would have some staying power. Enter litsea. It's a top note but can help fix other citrus. It's limey with a hint of lemon perhaps and some wood notes. I use it in a blend to help make lemongrass less grassy and more like citrus. Coriander is nice as well, hints of without being citrus and therefore easily dissipated. Yummy, so glad to have discovered it.
A must for citrus cold pressed soap

Litsea cubeba is a new essential oil for me. I have had problems in the past keeping citrus scents in my cold pressed soap. I have read that adding litsea cubeba to the batch will fix the citrus oils. I tried it and was so excited that my soaps kept the aroma, complimented by the beautiful aroma of Litsea cubeba. I am going to be incorporating this oil in other products I may have usually used lemon grass.

Thanks for browsing thru this section which contains answers to many questions that are often asked of us. Here we explain where to locate CofA and SDS for a product, how we dispense and package our products, how products should be stored, basic terminology and the wait time for bulk products to ship from our warehouse. FYI: We're closed on Fridays.

Certificate of Analysis (CofA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS). We publish on our website those documents for most of our products, some products don't provide either because the product doesn't require it. In this same section where you're at now, look to the tab to the left titled Documents, click on it and that's where you'll find either document for the product you seek. If you do not find the document you require, please email us at customerservice@camdengrey.com so we can research further.

BULK ITEMS: When a customer adds a bulk item to the cart, the customer’s immediately shown on the screen how many number of days should be allowed for the bulk product to arrive at our warehouse. If the bulk item happens to be in stock, we’ll ship sooner than the customer would expect. FO = fragrance oil

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

Essential oils: in 1/32 oz. to 1/4 oz...amber glass vials with orifice reducers. ½ oz. to 2 oz...in amber glass bottles with white caps and Eurodroppers...3 to 4 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps and without orifice reducers...7 oz. in aluminum bottles...15 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps...10 & 25 lbs. in HDPE plastic containers with wide mouths although, occasionally, 25 lbs. may be dispensed in factory-issued metal containers with pouring spouts.

28 lbs. of carrier oils and other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic gallon containers with handles, each holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

30+ lbs. of carrier oils, other liquids, soft butters, Castile gel and other products are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles & pouring spouts in the lid; those products may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. After Covid, we reserve the right to use any packaging/dispensing container available to us and not mentioned above because it continues to be difficult many times to restock the same packaging container or material used in the past.

NOTE: An EO may safely remain inside an aluminum container for up to 3 months, but if storing longer than 3 months the oil should be transferred to amber glass. Fragrances and carrier oils up to 8 lbs. may remain inside HDPE plastic bottles indefinitely. If the customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring a product to glass this should be done. ALL PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED BY WEIGHT, THUS, SOME CONTAINERS MAY BE FILLED HIGHER THAN OTHERS DEPENDING ON THE WEIGHT AND VISCOSITY OF EACH PRODUCT.

Raw materials/ingredients are dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of the butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
