    Matcha Green Tea Butter is produced from the micro fine powder of ground Green Tea Leaves (Camellia Sinensis). The leaves are dried and then ground into Matcha Green Tea Leaf Powder. Used by Asian philosophers and poets for over 1200 years in rolled cakes and elixirs, Matcha is also valued for use in cosmetics and toiletries due to its high content of Polyphenols, Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCg), and Xanthines.

    Green Tea can protect the skin from aging and serious damage in general from the suns UVB rays. Xanthines present in Matcha, such as Caffeine and Theobromine, have natural anti-inflammatory, anti-cellulite and anti-irritancy effects. When a non-covalent bond forms between a Xanthine and Polyphenol, the skin-protecting characteristics are greatly enhanced. Now add in the fact that EGCg is an antioxidant that is 20 times stronger than Tocopherol and over 65 times stronger in antioxidant properties than the average fruit or vegetable, while also being an insatiable free radical scavenger, and it is plain to see the skin protection potential that the active ingredients in Matcha provide.

    The Matcha Butter is produced using finely ground Green Tea Leaf powder, and blending it with a proprietary blend of Hydrogenated Vegetable Oils to produce a butter-like material suitable for use in cosmetics and toiletries. Matcha Green Tea Butter may be used in body care, soaps, facial creams, lotions and sunscreens to impart moisturization, particularly for dry, damaged skin (i.e. eczema, psoriasis and mastaligia.)

    Usage Levels: May be used at up to 10% in skin care formulations. Up to 3% in hand and foot care products. Up to 10% in lipsticks and balms, nail treatments and after-sun products. In OTC products, may be used at up to 10% for topical ointments. In soaps at up to 5%. May be packaged 100% pure as a body or lip balm.

    Appearance: Green soft butter (fat) whose color may range from deep beige with a tinge of green to full green. As with all natural products, it’s not possible to obtain the same color or aroma with each batch. Odor: Characteristic vegetable. SAP value: 175-200. Storage: Keep in cool, dry location away from direct heat and light, keep tightly sealed. Shelf life: One year. INCI: Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil (and) hydrogenated non-gmo soybean oil (and) Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder.

    I had never tried Matcha Green Tea butter so I asked for a sample with my order to try. It is a nice, soft and mild butter with a mild scent. It smells exactly like green tea, which is honestly not my favorite smell, but it is mild enough that I can combine it with other products and basically cover it! My mother loves green tea, and loves the smell of it! I think it would be great as an additive to a main butter (like shea) in a cream to help boost the anti-oxidant value of the cream although it is soft enough to be used on it's own as well. It seems to soothe skin, especially stressed skin, and help it heal quickly.
    Smells Like a Japanese Desert

    When they say Matcha Green Tea, they mean Matcha Green Tea. This smells Exactly like any green tea infused food or desert you would order from a Japanese store. It is a smooth and creamy butter, it goes on clear (even though it's green in color), and it leaves you smelling like just a hint of Matcha Green Tea. It's really delightful. I ordered some the other day because of how good the sample was. Great product as usual Camden Grey.
    Pretty good!

    I have this nearby for my skin and hair ends. I've had nicks on my skin and with time this helps heal them up with no scaring.

    I'm a big fan of butters and to know that there was a green tea one was music to my ears. I'm currently researching more on the benefits of green tea on the skin, so I'm thankful to have found this butter. It is really soft and has a mild scent, perfect for blending with other fragrances, oils, and butters. Very creamy and easy to spread over the skin. I look forward to seeing what it will do for my hair!
    Very helpful for my rosacea

    Bought a sample of this, since my skin is sensitive and rosacea can be aggravated by a lot of things. After the first use, I noticed that my skin had "calmed down" - the redness was lessened, and my skin no longer felt tight and itchy. Over the next few days, the redness faded gradually; after using it for 5 days, it's gone. The scent is very mild and pleasant, too. I'll definitely be back for more.

    Thanks for browsing thru this section which contains answers to many questions that are often asked of us. Here we explain where to locate CofA and SDS for a product, how we dispense and package our products, how products should be stored, basic terminology and the wait time for bulk products to ship from our warehouse. FYI: We're closed on Fridays.

    Certificate of Analysis (CofA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS). We publish on our website those documents for most of our products, some products don't provide either because the product doesn't require it. In this same section where you're at now, look to the tab to the left titled Documents, click on it and that's where you'll find either document for the product you seek. If you do not find the document you require, please email us at customerservice@camdengrey.com so we can research further.

    BULK ITEMS: When a customer adds a bulk item to the cart, the customer’s immediately shown on the screen how many number of days should be allowed for the bulk product to arrive at our warehouse. If the bulk item happens to be in stock, we’ll ship sooner than the customer would expect. As we emerge from Covid, logistics operations are not yet back to normal, what used to arrive at our warehouse in 3 days now takes much longer. Should a vendor inform us the ordered product will take longer than what’s mentioned on our website we’ll email the customer with the latest information.

    TERMINOLOGY:

    EO = essential oil

    FO = fragrance oil

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

    Essential oils: in 1/32 oz. to 1/4 oz...amber glass vials with orifice reducers. ½ oz. to 2 oz...in amber glass bottles with white caps and Eurodroppers...3 to 4 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps and without orifice reducers...7 oz. in aluminum bottles...15 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps...10 & 25 lbs. in HDPE plastic containers with wide mouths although, occasionally, 25 lbs. may be dispensed in factory-issued metal containers with pouring spouts.

    28 lbs. of carrier oils and other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic gallon containers with handles, each holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

    30+ lbs. of carrier oils, other liquids, soft butters, Castile gel and other products are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles & pouring spouts in the lid; those products may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. After Covid, we reserve the right to use any packaging/dispensing container available to us and not mentioned above because it continues to be difficult many times to restock the same packaging container or material used in the past.

    NOTE: An EO may safely remain inside an aluminum container for up to 3 months, but if storing longer than 3 months the oil should be transferred to amber glass. Fragrances and carrier oils up to 8 lbs. may remain inside HDPE plastic bottles indefinitely. If the customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring a product to glass this should be done. ALL PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED BY WEIGHT, THUS, SOME CONTAINERS MAY BE FILLED HIGHER THAN OTHERS DEPENDING ON THE WEIGHT AND VISCOSITY OF EACH PRODUCT.

    Raw materials/ingredients are dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

    HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of the butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
