    This is a dark clay ideal for face masks and mud mask applications. Its color ranges from light gray/green to dark gray. Due to its high content of minerals, sea clay draws oils from the skin, and is rich in algaes, macro- and micro-minerals, as well as sodium and sulphur. Sea plants, seawater, sea salt and oceanic clay have long been popular physical-therapy ingredients in Europe. Recommended as medical therapeutic agents as early as 1578, seawater and sea derivatives were administered for rheumatism and general rehabilitation. If you will search online, you will come across a couple of companies which supply spas and salons with expensive body wrap products and you will see that sea clay is an important ingredient in body wraps to lose inches and cellulite. Sea clay is also recommended for use on horses to apply on minor cuts, scabs and so on. For horses it may be used after strenuous workouts (cold to cool and tighten legs and muscles, to pack hooves and cool them after work on hard ground) (warm to reduce stiffness and maintain mobility, to relax and soothe tired muscles). Please consult a veterinarian prior to treating any animals. Sea Clay: Origin - USA; CAS# - 1332-58-7; INCI - Kaolin, Aluminum Silicate; Mesh - 200

    I use this in a facial bar that I formulated and it works wonders for acne prone skin. It is a wonderful clay and I love the color and texture it gives to my cold process soap.
    Beautiful color

    This clay gave my cold process soap a wonderful, rich olive green color. I did find it a little drying even when mixed with a lot of olive oil, so I only use it for my face. I also made a mask out of it just by wetting it with some chamomile tea. I tried to use the clay to color half a batch of soap and swirl them together but it didn't work out too well; granted, it was my first time trying to swirl so I may have done it incorrectly, but the two colors just blended together into one.
    Many different uses

    I originally purchased this to use as an additive and colorant for soap but also used this to make a mask for myself and my daughter. I like to experiment with different clays and but this I will purchase again.
    Very nice color.

    I use this as CP soap, nice color and no odor. I also use it as a mask, it gets powdery when it gets dry. Feels very nice after using it.
    Wonderful for clay masks!

    I bought this to use in soap but my teenage daughter asked for a clay mask the other day so I tried it. She and my younger daughter have been in a show and have been wearing lots of stage makeup. I whipped up a batch using green tea for the liquid and a few drops of tea tree and lavender essential oils. Our skin felt so smooth and soft and invigorated afterward. I have made masks using other types of clay and this one was the best. Interestingly, it worked well for all of us despite the fact that we have different kinds of skin (middle aged and dry for me), oily for my teen daughter, and normal for the little one. I did not find it drying at all.
    Truly indispensable

    I use this in my body scrub with Sea salt and essential oils. There is an odor--unappealing to some, fine for others--but it's one that is background, even complementary to the lemony, woodsy essential oils I use. It's so nourishing and amazing for the skin, particularly problem skin like acne. There really is no replacement for Sea clay.
    Love Sea Clay!

    This is very fine and incorporates so smoothly into my CP soaps for coloring. There is no "fishy" odor and it's a great addition to soaps!
    Wonderful addition to Soap

    I love this clay as a coloring agent in cold process soap. The color can be varied according to how much is used or it can be blended with other natural colors. I really like the feel of the soap when using this clay it makes a great addition to soaps used for shaving.
    Feels like a detox spa

    Love this clay. My next order will be larger. Very potent oil absorbing clay. Only need a little bit. I used about a tsp per pound of CP. Also makes a great natural olive green color. I did some beautiful swirling with this. Great on skin. Makes washing with soap feel like 20 mins with a mask. Good Stuff.

    Thanks for browsing thru this section which contains answers to many questions that are often asked of us. Here we explain where to locate CofA and SDS for a product, how we dispense and package our products, how products should be stored, basic terminology and the wait time for bulk products to ship from our warehouse. FYI: We're closed on Fridays.

    Certificate of Analysis (CofA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS). We publish on our website those documents for most of our products, some products don't provide either because the product doesn't require it. In this same section where you're at now, look to the tab to the left titled Documents, click on it and that's where you'll find either document for the product you seek. If you do not find the document you require, please email us at customerservice@camdengrey.com so we can research further.

    BULK ITEMS: When a customer adds a bulk item to the cart, the customer’s immediately shown on the screen how many number of days should be allowed for the bulk product to arrive at our warehouse. If the bulk item happens to be in stock, we’ll ship sooner than the customer would expect. As we emerge from Covid, logistics operations are not yet back to normal, what used to arrive at our warehouse in 3 days now takes much longer. Should a vendor inform us the ordered product will take longer than what’s mentioned on our website we’ll email the customer with the latest information.

    TERMINOLOGY:

    EO = essential oil

    FO = fragrance oil

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

    Essential oils: in 1/32 oz. to 1/4 oz...amber glass vials with orifice reducers. ½ oz. to 2 oz...in amber glass bottles with white caps and Eurodroppers...3 to 4 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps and without orifice reducers...7 oz. in aluminum bottles...15 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps...10 & 25 lbs. in HDPE plastic containers with wide mouths although, occasionally, 25 lbs. may be dispensed in factory-issued metal containers with pouring spouts.

    28 lbs. of carrier oils and other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic gallon containers with handles, each holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

    30+ lbs. of carrier oils, other liquids, soft butters, Castile gel and other products are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles & pouring spouts in the lid; those products may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. After Covid, we reserve the right to use any packaging/dispensing container available to us and not mentioned above because it continues to be difficult many times to restock the same packaging container or material used in the past.

    NOTE: An EO may safely remain inside an aluminum container for up to 3 months, but if storing longer than 3 months the oil should be transferred to amber glass. Fragrances and carrier oils up to 8 lbs. may remain inside HDPE plastic bottles indefinitely. If the customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring a product to glass this should be done. ALL PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED BY WEIGHT, THUS, SOME CONTAINERS MAY BE FILLED HIGHER THAN OTHERS DEPENDING ON THE WEIGHT AND VISCOSITY OF EACH PRODUCT.

    Raw materials/ingredients are dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

    HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of the butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
