    Botanical Name: Bergamot Citrus bergamia

    Plant Part: Peel

    Country of Origin: Italy

    Method of Extraction: Cold pressed

Bergamot’s aroma is uplifting, spicy, sweet; like orange and lemons with floral overtones...... citrus spice with a high floral note. Inhaled, it relaxes the nervous system and acts as a digestive. Also used as an expectorant, gargle for a sore throat, inhaled for anxiety and depression, used for a variety of skin problems. This oil may be used as an inhalation for respiratory tract infections such as tonsilitis and bronchitis. Combined with tea tree it has been used as a treatment for cold sores, chicken pox and shingles. Used in douches and sitz baths, bergamot oil has proved successful in gonococcal infections, leucorrhoea, vaginal prurities and urinary infections; add no more than 2-3 drops to some warm water. Its antiseptic properties make it ideal for treating wounds, herpes, acne and oily skin conditions. Bergamot imparts that unusual flavor to Earl Grey tea. It was and still is an important ingredient in the classic Eau de Cologne formula.

Bergamot is a photosensitizer (increases the skin reaction to sunlight and makes it more likely to burn) and the photosensitizing effect can last for several days.

We offer regular Bergamot and Bergaptene-free Bergamot; the latter should be considered when the oil will be used for skin application. Since soap lather only remains on the skin for a few seconds, regular Bergamot could be used in soaps. Blends well with chamomile, lavender, neroli and rosemary. Flash point: 136.4F. (Cannot ship via air or ocean or via USPS, UN#1169, Group III)

A young kind and charming demoiselle.
I use bergamot for perfumery. It is very soft and slightly sweet. For me, this bergamot has a little hint of rusticity that makes it untamed, though it is sophisticated at the same time. There’s a nice harmony between the sweet side, that is not too sugary, and the citrus/citric side that is present, but not overpowering. In addition to that, there’s a very subtle green accord that appears behind at times. This bergamot has a harmonious, delicate and beautiful scent. A young kind and charming demoiselle.
    Fantastic bergamot!
Bergamot has always been one of my very favorite essential oils. This particular one exceeded my expectations! It has a wonderful fresh, citrus scent. I love blending it with lavender, patchouli, and Ylang Ylang. I will be reordering from Camden-Grey!
    Wonderful aroma
I used this for aromatherapy soy candles. A great scent, light citrus, not at all woodsy. My only regret for my first order of this essential oil, I only purchased 1/2 ounce
    Not too sweet
I use this primarily for aromatherapy and CP soap-making. The scent is citrus-y without being overly sweet. Very nice.
    Add me to the list!
I too use this for aromatherapy purposes, but I also like it in scent blends for my cp soap! It's one I love to smell out of the bottle.
    Multi Purpose
I use this oil (topically) primarily for its antispasmodic qualities. Combined with lavender, it does a wonderful job of helping me relax and let go at the end of the day.
    Nothing like it!
I LOVE this EO. I use it primarily for CP soaping, but it is an excellent scent for aromatherapy, massage, homemade cleaners, & creams. Everyone always wants to know what smell that is they can't put their finger on. I always think of trees, oranges, and spices when I smell it. If you have never tried it, get some now!
    A pleasant oil
Bergamot is one of my favorites for use in Aromatherapy. The sweet scent is not overpowering, yet it works wonders. I have had many compliments on products I have used this EO in.
