Borage seed oil, Borago officinalis, organic, cold pressed, refined with a GLA content of 18%. Gamma linoleic acid (GLA) is an essential fatty acid the body uses to manufacture prostaglandins (hormone-like substances that balance and regulate cellular activity).
With levels of 16-23%, Borage oil is the richest source of GLA currently available (evening primrose oil contains much less, about 9%). GLA is very fragile and can be rapidly destroyed by light, heat, humidity and oxygen in the air. For this reason, the oil should be stored in a cool, dark place tightly sealed. Borage is said to reduce the aging process of the skin and to reverse damage from ultraviolet rays. Many use this oil externally in massage form to treat PMS, endometriosis and menopausal discomforts, as well as psoriasis and eczema.

For my body butter I wanted to add an oil that has anti aging properties and that is good for acne prone skin, borage oil is amazing in my body butter. I scent my body butter with another amazing product from Camden grey: frankincense oil.

I am always finding more ways to incorporate this oil into all my face oils, body butters, and massage oils. It helps the itchy scalp my daughter has. I saw amazing results on my face when I used it as part of a face oil to help the sun damage on my face after a week long bike ride. Helped with wrinkles too

I used this is a acne prone skin oil moisturizing oil blend and absolutely love how it turned out. Borage oil is good for all skin types really, but especially good for acne prone skin because it is astringent and also encourages new skin growth. I put off purchasing this oil because I thought it was pricey, but with other miracle oils on the market for way higher prices, I feel like I found my own little miracle oil at a fraction of the price.

I have been using Borage oil in my anti-aging formula. It is very emollient, softens fine lines, and feels great on the skin. I recommend 10 min. light massage to face and neck with this oil gives miraculous results

I used to grow Borage its a little wonder plant, although some people consider it more of a weed! I was surprised that the oil didnt have that cucumber-ish sort of smell that I always associated with the plant and that I found rather pleasant. I detect no real smell to the oil at all. Add away to any of your concoctions without fear of interfering with the final scent.
I like that it can be used directly on the skin but I don’t feel it sinks in as fast as say, Jojoba or Meadowfoam so I will either use this as part of a mix with lighter, more quickly absorbable oils or, as a nighttime application.
I am always looking for oils that will help with my aging skin and even before reading the site info here at Camden-Grey and purchasing the oil, I knew Borage was a fantastic oil for aging skin as well as younger skin. Especially if one has sun damage or scarring. I also have extremely dry skin and in certain areas of my face and body it gets so dry it actually hurts. I have already used it on my readers elbow that is always dark from leaning on it all the time when I am reading, and in just one week it is lightening up nicely. It also seems to be helping the IV bruises I got in the hospital just last week---usually they last for 2-3 weeks and most of the are almost gone.
As a very nice addition to all these qualities the Borage oil that C-G offers is non-GMO!! A keeper and one to re-order!

My husband has ichthyosis, a skin disease characterized with dry skin that forms scaly patches. He has spent almost 40 years using every product he can find, to little or no avail. This winter I made him a lotion with this borage oil, and his skin is healthier than it has ever been. A fantastic product at a great price!

This is one of my favorite oils, it absorbs quickly. I've tried everything, expensive cream, nothing worked. I've been using Borage oil for a month; my menopausal skin, specially my face is soft and hydrated, my wrinkles are less noticeable. It truly reduces the aging of the skin. I will faithfully continue using it.

This oil has a great feel and absorbs quickly, leaving the skin feeling silky soft. Mild odor. It works great in applications for sensitive skin, eczema and psoriasis. Glad to find this oil at such a good price!

HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...
BOTTLING/PACKAGING:
Essential oils: Are sold only in the quantities/net weights listed on our website. These oils are shipped to us by the distiller or manufacturer in industry-standard metal or plastic containers and that’s how we ship them to you.
Carrier oils and most other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic pails or containers with some type of handle, each container holds the purchased net weight of liquid.
Soft butters such as Horsetail and Almond are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles; those butters may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. Hard butters such as Cocoa are dispensed factory-wrapped in plastic and placed inside a box. Castile Gel is dispensed in a self-contained cubitainer with pouring spout.
NOTE: While the packaging methods mentioned above are generalized, we reserve the right to dispense and ship in any available container. If a customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring an essential or carrier oil to glass, this should be done.
Raw materials/ingredients are sold and dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces are in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.
HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs and FOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames and from varnished or wood surfaces. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of a butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
