    Botanical Name: Cupressus sempervirens

    Plant Part: Leaf/cone

    Country of Origin: Spain

    Method of Extraction: Steam Distillation

    Cypress essential oil Cypress: Cupressus sempervirens, steam distilled leaf/cone, Spain. Trees of the Genera Cupressus are the True Cypresses. Cypress has a woody and slightly spicy aroma. It is anti-infectious, spasmolytic and a venous decongestant. This cypress is indicated for colitis or infections of the gut, to decongest the prostate and to stimulate pancreas and has primary use in the respiratory and circulatory systems. This is a warming, stimulating and uplifting oil and when inhaled just before bedtime can be soothing and relaxing. Seems to have a soothing effect on anger. Useful for sweaty palms or feet. As with many of the evergreen oils, it is useful to reduce fluid retention and cellulite and for aching muscles and arthritis pain. Useful after the loss of loved ones or endings of relationships. It is inhaled for strength and comfort. Its wonderful effect on varicose veins is well known (diluted in a carrier oil and massaged lightly into the legs every day). A few drops of this oil on a cotton ball placed under the pillow can help stop coughing. Regulates menstrual cycle, promotes and increases periods in conditions associated with dysmenorrhoea. It helps relieve painful periods and reduces abnormally heavy blood loss, particularly when it happens in the early stages of menopause. Soothes anger. Blends well with bergamot, grapefruit, lavender, lemon, pine and sandalwood. Flash point: 114°F. (Cannot ship via air or ocean w/o appropriate documentation, cannot ship via postal air services. So many uses in one quality oil
    The cypress essential oil has a earthy scent that blends well with other oils. It is a highly effective ingredient in both my wound oil blend and pain oil blend, a very important oil to have in one's arsenal.
    Cypress Oil Great for Blending
    I got this cypress oil hoping I use it in some cp soap recipes. I found that this oil is great for blending with other essential oils. It adds a crisp fresh note to my soaps. I will be buying it again.
    Useful
    The smell is sharp and woodsy. Not really my favorite, but it has been fantastic in the joint preparation that I have been making. I have been using this cypress along with wintergreen and lemongrass and it has had such wonderful success on joint pain that my Aunt has taken to using it in her massage therapy.
    A medicine chest must have!
    Every person needs to have this in their home & even at work with them if they are at risk for injury. Ive already gone through 2 bottles of this this year alone! Will order more soon. Cypress is a Hemostat & a antiseptic meaning it stops & prevents infection & it also stops bleeding. Im an aromatherapy student & decided to get this oil in case of an emergency at the house... Well within a few days of getting the bottle I somehow tried to slice my finger up with the onions for dinner & I sliced it down to the bone! Well I said here we go, its this or the hospital or both! I got out a dropper and began applying a couple drops at a time. The first thing I noticed was the pain stopped after a moment & the flowing blood was now just a few drops rolling out of the gash at a time. I waited a min, then applied just a few more drops. Maybe 2... The bleeding then stopped & the next day the wound had just about pulled itself shut. The next week my boyfriend ran a piece of metal through the palm of his hand & didnt say anything about it until I saw him 3 days later & it was infected! This was a 2" cut through the meaty part of your palm under the thumb. It was also very deep & could of used stitches! Once again I got the oil out to address the infection. I applied it into the gash. He said it stung a bit, but wasnt painful, then a few min later he said the pain from the infection had subsided. I put some in another bottle for him & had him use it twice a day for 1 week. Into the 3rd day the infection was gone & the gash had pulled some what shut. At the end of the week it had completely closed & was just pink. You never would of known he had such a deep infected wound only days before! :0)
    Does really work
    This EO really does have a calming effect. With a great woody scent that is all it's own.
    Intense wood
    I bought this for a CP soap recipe and it has a strong woodsy scent but not at all like a pine smell. More of an exotic bark, and slightly astringent. I'm going to try combining it with a citrus scent next time - I think they would be a good match up.

    Thanks for browsing thru this section which contains answers to many questions that are often asked of us. Here we explain where to locate CofA and SDS for a product, how we dispense and package our products, how products should be stored, basic terminology and the wait time for bulk products to ship from our warehouse. FYI: We're closed on Fridays.

    Certificate of Analysis (CofA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS). We publish on our website those documents for most of our products, some products don't provide either because the product doesn't require it. In this same section where you're at now, look to the tab to the left titled Documents, click on it and that's where you'll find either document for the product you seek. If you do not find the document you require, please email us at customerservice@camdengrey.com so we can research further.

    BULK ITEMS: When a customer adds a bulk item to the cart, the customer’s immediately shown on the screen how many number of days should be allowed for the bulk product to arrive at our warehouse. If the bulk item happens to be in stock, we’ll ship sooner than the customer would expect. As we emerge from Covid, logistics operations are not yet back to normal, what used to arrive at our warehouse in 3 days now takes much longer. Should a vendor inform us the ordered product will take longer than what’s mentioned on our website we’ll email the customer with the latest information.

    TERMINOLOGY:

    EO = essential oil

    FO = fragrance oil

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

    Essential oils: in 1/32 oz. to 1/4 oz...amber glass vials with orifice reducers. ½ oz. to 2 oz...in amber glass bottles with white caps and Eurodroppers...3 to 4 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps and without orifice reducers...7 oz. in aluminum bottles...15 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps...10 & 25 lbs. in HDPE plastic containers with wide mouths although, occasionally, 25 lbs. may be dispensed in factory-issued metal containers with pouring spouts.

    28 lbs. of carrier oils and other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic gallon containers with handles, each holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

    30+ lbs. of carrier oils, other liquids, soft butters, Castile gel and other products are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles & pouring spouts in the lid; those products may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. After Covid, we reserve the right to use any packaging/dispensing container available to us and not mentioned above because it continues to be difficult many times to restock the same packaging container or material used in the past.

    NOTE: An EO may safely remain inside an aluminum container for up to 3 months, but if storing longer than 3 months the oil should be transferred to amber glass. Fragrances and carrier oils up to 8 lbs. may remain inside HDPE plastic bottles indefinitely. If the customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring a product to glass this should be done. ALL PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED BY WEIGHT, THUS, SOME CONTAINERS MAY BE FILLED HIGHER THAN OTHERS DEPENDING ON THE WEIGHT AND VISCOSITY OF EACH PRODUCT.

    Raw materials/ingredients are dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

    HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of the butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
