Floral waxes are plant waxes made from flowers. During production waxes such as beeswax are not added, the resulting wax is a result of separation of the concrete as explained below. Floral waxes are usually produced from delicate flowers in order to retain their fragrance. Steam distillation would destroy the fragile scent molecules.
Freshly picked, carefully selected flower heads are mixed with a solvent to produce a concrete. When mixed with a high proof alcohol and then chilled, the concrete separates into a fragrant liquid and a waxy solid. (To make an absolute, the alcohol is removed from the liquid via evaporation, leaving the absolute.)
Floral waxes are less expensive than absolutes and add emolliency, scent and color to creams and lotions. Recommended use rate is up to 10%. Floral waxes also work very well for scenting lotions; 1 oz. of floral wax is equivalent to about ½ oz. of the corresponding absolute.
Floral waxes work well to scent a lotion or other body product, a tiny amount is all that’s needed to scent the complete recipe. Melt the wax over very low heat and add it to your recipe. Floral wax usually constitutes 2% of a final recipe.
Floral wax might be too expensive to use in CP or HP soap, you’d need to use too much to get scent without it getting lost in the process. Large portions of the wax are unsaponifiable, so your soap might actually feel a bit “waxy” by the time you added enough to get a noticeable scent.
Floral waxes can be used to scent a product – it all depends on how strong a scent you want. It’s advisable to keep your floral wax usage to below 10% of the final product weight. Most floral waxes are strongly scented enough that you will have a fair amount of fragrance coming through at that ratio.

Easy to Work With Lovely Scents
I bought the sampler for fun since I had not heard of floral waxes. I used the rose wax in my facial clay mask with pleasing results. I want to also try a natural light scented perfume for the work place who frown on "scents". I am sure not to offend with these waxes.

I ordered this sampler on a whim. Once the sample arrived, I was thrilled by the raw scent of these waxes. The pure and natural aromas are beyond description. I made a solid perfume with a little jasmine grandiflorum and a little rose in hazelnut oil. It made a beautiful, subtle, solid perfume balm that is moisturizing and uplifting. I just love these waxes and cannot wait to try the other two in the sampler. These perfumes will make lovely gifts for my daughters and granddaughters.

I ordered this sampler and I must admit that I was floored with just how much each wax I received. They all smell absolutely divine, and I was thrilled to read how little it takes to scent products. I work mainly with materials for perfumery, but this is my first excursion into the floral waxes. I mainly ordered them for the opportunity to experience each of them at such an affordable price, but I am now excited at the possibilities they present when used in solid perfume applications. Thanks for the great products and the very handy packaging, Camden-Grey!

a worthwhile splurge
After I had ordered the Tuberose Wax previously and really enjoyed its texture and scent, I decided to splurge on the sampler in order to be able to try some of the other waxes as well. And I am so happy I did! They add desirable moisturizing properties to body butters and the scent of the rose wax is divine....

We blended these oils with coconut oil and soy wax to make a solid perfume that is simply divine! The sampler is such a nice way to try the waxes and we appreciate the convenience and price!
