    Botanical Name: Jasminum grandiflorum. Country of origin: India As always, this wax provides the exotic and sensual aroma of Jasmine. As is the norm with all floral waxes, this wax is an excellent moisturizer with very good emollient action. Use in products in .4 to 6% range.

    Floral waxes are plant waxes made from flowers. During production waxes such as beeswax are not added, the resulting wax is a result of separation of the concrete as explained below. Floral waxes are usually produced from delicate flowers in order to retain their fragrance. Steam distillation would destroy the fragile scent molecules.

    Freshly picked, carefully selected flower heads are mixed with a solvent to produce a concrete. When mixed with a high proof alcohol and then chilled, the concrete separates into a fragrant liquid and a waxy solid. (To make an absolute, the alcohol is removed from the liquid via evaporation, leaving the absolute.)

    Floral waxes are less expensive than absolutes and add emolliency, scent and color to creams and lotions. Recommended use rate is up to 10%. Floral waxes also work very well for scenting lotions; 1 oz. of floral wax is equivalent to about 1/2 oz. of the corresponding absolute.

    Floral waxes work well to scent a lotion or other body product, a tiny amount is all that’s needed to scent the complete recipe. Melt the wax over very low heat and add it to your recipe. Floral wax usually constitutes 2% of a final recipe.

    Floral wax might be too expensive to use in CP or HP soap, you’d need to use too much to get scent without it getting lost in the process. Large portions of the wax are unsaponifiable, so your soap might actually feel a bit “waxy” by the time you added enough to get a noticeable scent.

    Floral waxes can be used to scent a product – it all depends on how strong a scent you want. It’s advisable to keep your floral wax usage to below 10% of the final product weight. Most floral waxes are strongly scented enough that you will have a fair amount of fragrance coming through at that ratio.

    Smells great, even a decade on...
    (Detroit, MI, US) | August 16th, 2017
    I started making homemade cosmetics and especially solid perfumes about twelve years ago, but due to family priorities, stopped around nine years ago. All of the unused raw material from that time, of course, has been long gone except for three forgotten and discreetly tucked away, and tightly sealed, Mason jars, the contents of which were floral waxes ordered On September 9, 2007 from Camden-Grey. About three months ago, I was cleaning my basement and came across the three jars containing the waxes. Apprehensive about opening them, I brought them upstairs and they sat on my desk for a few days until I finally got up the courage to unscrew the ring on the jar containing the Jasmine Grandiflorum, and WOW, before I even took off the partly sealed lid I could smell the lovely and familiar fragrance. To me, it smelt as wonderful as the day I put the wax into the jar (as did the Rose and the Tuberose). Not only did this scent rekindle an old passion in me, making perfume, it got me looking for other floral waxes to use, so I placed an order from a company that had a larger variety of waxes than CG offered. WHAT A MISTAKE. The "fresh" floral waxes that I received were no where near as fragrant as the ten year old waxes that I had ordered from Camden-Grey. Now, because I cannot find any information on the shelf life or stability of my ten year old waxes, I don't know if they can be used in my solid perfumes, most likely not, and I will err on the side of caution and not use them, but I refuse to get rid of such a lovely gift from nature and think that maybe I will put small pieces in muslin bags and use the bags in my dresser drawers. Moral of this story: Buy your floral waxes from Camden-Grey, you will not be disappointed.
    LOVE IT!

    I really need to get more of this floral wax very soon! It smells divine! But also works wonders on the hair in a conditioning treatment I developed. The end product is compareable to the expensive Phyto line you can find at Ulta stores, but I have to say mine is much better, cheaper, & chemical free.... Something they cant claim :0)

    I could smell this before I opened the bag! It has an absolutely marvelous scent. Mix half and half with a soft oil (make sure to melt it gently!!) and just a few drops of ylang-ylang essential oil for the most rich, and feminine solid perfume you've ever had.

    This was a surprising product. It smells wondeful! It is a WAX! I added a chunk of it to soap at first trace... the first time, it stayed in little chucks that time. The next time I added it to the oils during the heating. It worked better the second time! It needs to be melted, but I was afraid of losing the scent. It dispersed better when melted in the oils and did not lose it scent.

    OUT OF STOCK ISSUES: If a customer orders a large quantity of a product and all of the product is not in stock when the order is entered into our system, once the new stock arrives we will ship separately whatever quantity we may owe the customer. Most of our restocking orders arrive at our warehouse 5-7 business days after we place a restocking order, sometimes sooner. Should the distiller or vendor inform us restocking will take longer than 7 business days, we’ll promptly notify the customer.

    Please note that we do not allow order cancellations for any reason and we don’t allow removal/cancellations of products which become partially or completely out of stock after the customer places an order.

    Raw materials/ingredients are dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

    EO = essential oil

    FO = fragrance oil

    Our containers are filled with products to where our commercial digital scales indicate the container should be filled. Some containers will be filled to the top, some will not.

    HOW OILS ARE DISPENSED: All our products are dispensed by weight. EO's in 8 oz. through 2 lbs. - amber plastic pharmaceutical-grade bottle. EO's in 5 and 10 lbs. - heavy duty plastic container w/pouring spout, the oil may remain inside the container at least 2 months. EO's in sizes of 25+ lbs. - industry-standard metal or plastic can with a pouring spout, the oil may remain inside the metal can indefinitely and up to 2 months in the plastic pail. It's our decision in which type of pail we dispense the product, metal cans are not readily available. CARRIER OILS - plastic bottles/pails depending on the size ordered, do not need to be transferred to glass unless you wish to do so. FO's - in plastic containers, contents do not need to be transferred to glass unless you wish to do so.

    Essential oils in sizes from ½ oz. to 4 oz. are dispensed in amber glass bottles without orifice reducers or glass droppers. If we ever run out of amber glass bottles, we reserve the right to use any other glass bottle available at that time. The only sizes of EO's dispensed with orifice reducers are 1/32, 1/16, 1/8 and 1/4 oz. sizes. If you require bottles/vials with orifice reducers or Eurodroppers, we sell those separately.

    HOW TO STORE: Upon receipt, EO's dispensed in plastic bottles MUST be transferred into amber glass bottles. EO's, FO's and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Many oils could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of the butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle and store products.
