    Purchase Peppermint essential oil (Yakima)

    Botanical Name: Mentha piperita

    Plant Part: Leaf

    Country of Origin: USA

    Method of Extraction: Steam Distillation

This oil is distilled from peppermint grown in Yakima, Washington, one of the highest quality peppermint oils found in the marketplace.

Its aroma is refreshing, minty and very herbaceous. Among its known properties are: Cooling, analgesic, antispasmodic, anesthetic, decongestant, emmenagogue, expectorant, febrifuge, insecticide and stimulant. Should be kept away from eyes, likely to irritate skin and mucous membranes. Best avoided by pregnant women and nursing mothers as it could discourage flow of milk. May antidote homeopathic remedies.

Helps people become clear headed and refreshes the spirit. Helpful for people who are unable to concentrate or who have mental fatigue. Said to relieve states of anger, hysteria and nervous trembling, excellent for depression.

On the body, it has a dual action....cooling when hot and warming when cold. As a remedy for colds, it halts mucous and fevers and encourages perspiration. Extremely important for its effect on the digestive system (some users recommend 1 drop on a sugar cube or on a teaspoon of honey).

Has a slightly anesthetic effect on stomach muscles. Good for travel sickness, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, colic, nausea and to keep drivers alert while on the road. Its cooling and pain relieving action seems to ease headaches, migraines and toothaches. Used in liniments for the relief of muscle pain, lumbago, bruises, joint pain and insect bites. Can be used to relieve any kind of skin irritation or itching but should be used in a dilution of 1% or less or the irritation could be made worse. Not much liked by insects and vermin, great for getting rid of ants and rodents. Blends well with cedarwood, cypress, lavender, niaouli and pine. Flash point: 151 F. OK to ship via air or ocean.

    Wonderful!
I am using this to make mouthwash and prefer the taste of this peppermint EO over others. It seems to be a little sweeter and smoother while still being very strong.
    Lovely!
I truly love this peppermint from Yakima. One its USA grown & two its that soft delicate mint scent that you taste in those old fashioned soft peppermint sticks you use to get in a box. This so reminds me of my grandfather when I was small & those treasured mint sticks he would give me to gobble up! Ive used it for sinus issues & headaches & it has worked wonderfully. Id love to also get a peppermint oil that has that knock you down mint scent & strong strong tingle effect for muscle rubs. However Im keeping this around always. Its a high quality oil that works wonderfully & gives me a little of my Grandpa back too. :0)
    Great!
Bought one pound and it was great! Very strong scent!
    OMG!
Best scent ever. Not to mention I love it to soothe my achy muscles. I use this in everything and adore it!!!
    Back for more!
I bought 1oz. of this and I'm back for more! This is the strongest peppermint EO I've found. Love it!
More ways to use this oil than I knew of
My plan was to make a hair treatment with this oil, but have yet to get to that (because I have cooked up a few recipes with other ingredients such as Rosemary). Meanwhile, I have found out that there are lots of good ways to use peppermint oil. I have made a super simple yet wonderful mouthwash with water, peppermint EO, and glycerin. After rinsing with it you'll feel like you have just stuffed a whole pack of doublemint gum in your mouth. The mouthwash is all natural, crisp, refreshing, and best of all, kills all the germs. Very little of the EO is needed to make the mouthwash, so it saves me quite a bit of money because now I won't be spending $7 a month on Listerin.
    Love this mint!
This is a sweet, gentle mint. It's not harsh at all and even neat, there's no burning eye sensation from the fumes. Made a great shampoo bar with it, and a few drops on a cotton ball is great for keeping mice out of your supplies ;).
    Good Peppermint
Its a little different than another peppermint I have on hand. It is about 3/4 as strong as another but yes, sweeter. I agree with the other reviewer. You might want to increase the amount of peppermint if a strong scent is desired but for a peppermint candy type, this is just right.
    Sweet and Minty!
This is by far the sweetest smelling peppermint oil we've ever had! It has all the cool tingly minty properties you'd expect from an essential oil, but the sweetness is an unexpected bonus. Works perfectly for lip balm and one of our best-selling soaps.
    Recommend it!
This is the sweetest peppermint oil I've ever come across in over 20 years of aromatherapy. It has no 'bite' or harsh undertone as so many peppermint oils do. This is the only oil I'll be getting from now on.

Thanks for browsing thru this section which contains answers to many questions that are often asked of us. Here we explain where to locate CofA and SDS for a product, how we dispense and package our products, how products should be stored, basic terminology and the wait time for bulk products to ship from our warehouse. FYI: We're closed on Fridays.

Certificate of Analysis (CofA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS). We publish on our website those documents for most of our products, some products don't provide either because the product doesn't require it. In this same section where you're at now, look to the tab to the left titled Documents, click on it and that's where you'll find either document for the product you seek. If you do not find the document you require, please email us at customerservice@camdengrey.com so we can research further.

BULK ITEMS: When a customer adds a bulk item to the cart, the customer’s immediately shown on the screen how many number of days should be allowed for the bulk product to arrive at our warehouse. If the bulk item happens to be in stock, we’ll ship sooner than the customer would expect. As we emerge from Covid, logistics operations are not yet back to normal, what used to arrive at our warehouse in 3 days now takes much longer. Should a vendor inform us the ordered product will take longer than what’s mentioned on our website we’ll email the customer with the latest information.

    TERMINOLOGY:

    EO = essential oil

    FO = fragrance oil

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

Essential oils: in 1/32 oz. to 1/4 oz...amber glass vials with orifice reducers. ½ oz. to 2 oz...in amber glass bottles with white caps and Eurodroppers...3 to 4 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps and without orifice reducers...7 oz. in aluminum bottles...15 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps...10 & 25 lbs. in HDPE plastic containers with wide mouths although, occasionally, 25 lbs. may be dispensed in factory-issued metal containers with pouring spouts.

28 lbs. of carrier oils and other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic gallon containers with handles, each holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

30+ lbs. of carrier oils, other liquids, soft butters, Castile gel and other products are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles & pouring spouts in the lid; those products may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. After Covid, we reserve the right to use any packaging/dispensing container available to us and not mentioned above because it continues to be difficult many times to restock the same packaging container or material used in the past.

NOTE: An EO may safely remain inside an aluminum container for up to 3 months, but if storing longer than 3 months the oil should be transferred to amber glass. Fragrances and carrier oils up to 8 lbs. may remain inside HDPE plastic bottles indefinitely. If the customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring a product to glass this should be done. ALL PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED BY WEIGHT, THUS, SOME CONTAINERS MAY BE FILLED HIGHER THAN OTHERS DEPENDING ON THE WEIGHT AND VISCOSITY OF EACH PRODUCT.

Raw materials/ingredients are dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of the butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
