Red palm oil, virgin, organic RSPO IP, Elaeis guineensis, is expeller-pressed from the fruit of the palm. This is an orange/red oil and will provide color and emollient qualities to your toiletries. Red Palm oil contains lots of natural vitamins and antioxidants, its high content of carotenoids gives the oil its beautiful orange/red color. May also be used as is on the skin and hair. This oil has its own particular, faint, pleasant aroma.  an excellent ingredient in skin serums, body butters, creams and other skin care formulations. Many use this oil for nourishing, conditioning and hydrating hair.

This input has been provided by one of our customers, we hope it assists you in making an informed purchasing decision:  Palm oil has been used in the hair of African-American women as a pre-oil treatment and then washed out. It makes our hair type extremely soft. We also make hair creams using it with other butters like shea and mango and other oils. It has a tendency to stain and has its own aroma, this is why we either use it as a pre-hair treatment or we mix it with other butters.

This particular oil carries a unique certification in which this certified palm is kept separate from ordinary palm throughout the entire supply chain. It is produced sustainably from a single RSPO certified mill and can be identified and traced back to this single source. RSPO IP certification provides consumers and manufacturers confidence in their purchasing decisions not only in terms of sustainable farming practices being used, but the working conditions, pay, and resources offered to the farmers and overall positive impact the families and community benefit from.

INCI:  Elaeis guineensis (Red Palm) Oil.  SAP VALUE: 199.   Typical shelf life when stored tightly capped and away from heat and direct light: 2 years.  Its high vitamin E content prevents it from going rancid.

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

Essential oils: Are sold only in the quantities/net weights listed on our website. These oils are shipped to us by the distiller or manufacturer in industry-standard metal or plastic containers and that’s how we ship them to you.

Carrier oils and most other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic pails or containers with some type of handle, each container holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

Soft butters such as Horsetail and Almond are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles; those butters may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. Hard butters such as Cocoa are dispensed factory-wrapped in plastic and placed inside a box. Castile Gel is dispensed in a self-contained cubitainer with pouring spout.

NOTE: While the packaging methods mentioned above are generalized, we reserve the right to dispense and ship in any available container. If a customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring an essential or carrier oil to glass, this should be done.

Raw materials/ingredients are sold and dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces are in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs and FOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames and from varnished or wood surfaces. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of a butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
