Vanilla absolute is vanilla in its most concentrated form. Due to its expensive nature, this absolute is usually reserved for very high end products. The scent of vanilla generates feelings of well being and relaxation.
This absolute is extracted from the bean with food grade grain alcohol and may be used in aromatherapy and for fragrancing. Vanilla absolute offers a warm, sweet vanilla aroma, and its color is deep brown. It's a thick product which may need softening using Bain-Marie and/or dilution in a carrier oil. The vendor mentions that this absolute is soluble in alcohol at 10%.
To make a 10%, dilution use one part EO or absolute to 9 parts high proof alcohol (grain or Everclear) or fixed oil. Blend/mix well and gently.
To soften the absolute: Bain Marie is a/k/a a hot water bath. Find a pan with high enough sides that will hold water and the absolute. Leave the absolute in its original container, remove the lid but position the lid (without screwing or tightening) on the neck of the bottle so there will not be any possibility that water will spill inside the bottle. Bring the pot of water to a boil, reduce temperature, simmer. Avoid splashing water into the vial/bottle of absolute. The water should come about halfway up the sides of the vial/bottle. Allow the absolute to get hot always keeping an eye on the process. Once done, the absolute should be much easier to pour out of the vial/bottle. You can also try using a chopstick, knitting needle or similar long, thin instrument to remove the contents. Microwaving an EO or absolute is NOT recommended.

Very thick + concentrated!
Just as described in the product description, this product is very thick. It seems very high quality + smells amazing. I've ordered this product from Camden Grey many times, and it's usually consistent in quality + use friendliness. However, what I received in my most recent order came in different packaging than usual, was MUCH thicker than previous orders, and was not oil soluble. After a couple of hours of double boiler to try to melt and mix it with a carrier oil, all it wouldn't mix. After pouring off the carrier oil and proceeding to clean my double boiler, the absolute mixed completely with the water! This is not an absolute, it's more of an oleoresin. High quality! But not oil soluble, which was what I ordered and what I need for my product. REPEAT: As of 2/11/2017, this product that they currently have in stock is NOT OIL SOLUBLE.

Very concentrated, a little bit will go a long way. It is thick and need to be warmed up in the warm water bath. I like that it is food grade too.

The best guilty pleasure EVER!
I can't believe I waited years to buy this! The smell is fabulous! I melded mine with Jojoba oil, a little work to get it to blend, but worth it. A tip: There is residual inside the bottle. I added jojoba to the old bottle to get out every drop, and this worked very well for me. One of the best presents I bought for myself.

A BIT PRICEY BUT WORTH IT!
I was reluctant to purchase such a pricey oil but my vanilla blends have become very popular with customers so I went for it - no regrets! I blended this absolute with sandalwood in a mist and customers (MEN AND WOMEN) are gaga over it - totally worth the price!
OUT OF STOCK ISSUES: If a customer orders a large quantity of a product and all of the product is not in stock when the order is entered into our system, once the new stock arrives we will ship separately whatever quantity we may owe the customer. Should the distiller or vendor inform us restocking will take longer than 7 business days, we’ll promptly notify the customer.
Please note that we do not allow order cancellations for any reason and we don’t allow removal/cancellations of products which become partially or completely out of stock after the customer places an order.
Raw materials/ingredients are dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.
EO = essential oil
FO = fragrance oil
Our containers are filled with products to where our commercial digital scales indicate the container should be filled. Some containers will be filled to the top, some will not.
HOW OILS ARE DISPENSED: All our products are dispensed by weight. EO's in 8 oz. through 2 lbs. - amber plastic pharmaceutical-grade bottle. EO's in 5 and 10 lbs. - heavy duty plastic container w/pouring spout, the oil may remain inside the container at least 2 months. EO's in sizes of 25+ lbs. - industry-standard metal or plastic can with a pouring spout, the oil may remain inside the metal can indefinitely and up to 2 months in the plastic pail. It's our decision in which type of pail we dispense the product, metal cans are not readily available. CARRIER OILS - plastic bottles/pails depending on the size ordered, do not need to be transferred to glass unless you wish to do so. FO's - in plastic containers, contents do not need to be transferred to glass unless you wish to do so.
Essential oils in sizes from ½ oz. to 4 oz. are dispensed in amber glass bottles without orifice reducers or glass droppers. If we ever run out of amber glass bottles, we reserve the right to use any other glass bottle available at that time. The only sizes of EO's dispensed with orifice reducers are 1/32, 1/16, 1/8 and 1/4 oz. sizes. If you require bottles/vials with orifice reducers or Eurodroppers, we sell those separately.
HOW TO STORE: Upon receipt, EO's dispensed in plastic bottles MUST be transferred into amber glass bottles. EO's, FO's and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Many oils could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of the butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle and store products.
