    Botanical Name: Vetiveria zizanioides

    Plant Part: Root

    Country of Origin: Haiti

    Method of Extraction: Steam Distillation

    Stainless steel distillation is what gives this 'light' oil a color that's lighter than in an oil not obtained thru SS distillation. Deep, smoky, earthy aroma. In aromatherapy, some people can barely tolerate the smell while others are affected quite deeply by its aroma which can be likened to the smell of a damp forest floor. This EO is considered antiseptic, aphrodisiac, sedative, nervine....a calming oil, excellent for stress and tension. Settles the nerves. May be useful in helping people ease off tranquilizers.

    This oil is considered a classic for physical, mental and emotional burnout which may result in total exhaustion. On an emotional level, vetiver helps to soothe states of irritability, anger and hysteria. Vetiver is recommended for dry, dehydrated skin. May assist with acne. Its vulnerary and cicatrisant properties are utilized to prevent and reduce wrinkles and stretch marks during pregnancy. Said to cleanse the aura (the energy field around the body) and to strengthen the auric shield which can be instrumental in keeping out disease.

    This EO is said to be very helpful in cases of mental and physical exhaustion. It assists with increasing blood flow which, thereby being able to alleviate muscular aches and pains. It is said to be a tonic to the reproductive system and its relaxing quality seems to have some effect on tension underlying sexual problems. Helpful in cases of insomnia. Blends well with frankincense, geranium, grapefruit, jasmine, lavender, rose, sandalwood and ylang ylang. Flash point: 240F.

    Best and Unique Vetiver

    Vetiver is one of my top 5 favorite oils, so I'm prejudiced, and maybe a connoisseur since I've tried many Vetivers in 21 years. This LIGHT VETIVER is the most unique and addictive Vetiver I've found! It's different because it's softer, subtler and less masculine. It doesn't even overpower florals in a blend, and is the perfect base note in any blend. This is soothing, calming, sexy, everything Vetiver is supposed to be emotionally. A beautiful drug, I never run out of this heady balm!
    Lovely scent

    I use this in a blend for CP soap. It's a wonderful quality and adds a nice smokiness to a blend.
    Incredible quality--simply the best!

    I've never been a girly-girl--I've always liked musky scents and even men's cologne on occasion. As a mediterranean climate plant lover, for many years I tried sampling cheap versions of natural store vetiver and was always surprised at how strange and simply unpleasant it smelled. One day I discovered the vetiver EO by a very expensive popular brand and I fell in love, but was immediately heart-broken, after finding that 15ml was just short of $50. After again trying several cheap brands, like the ones that had turned me off the scent originally, I nearly gave up on vetiver, but then I discovered Camden Grey's wildcrafted vetiver and it is equal if not better than the unnamed expensive brand. I LOVE IT. I will never stop purchasing this oil and I thank heaven for Camden Grey, every day!
    A mysterious aura.

    I tried both the dark and light vetiver oils. Both are really beautiful; this one though is nearer to what I thought vetiver was. The smoky/leathery side is really present and it’s somwhat bewitching. It has a dense smell that lingers for a long time. The rooty/earthy side is also very obvious and pleasant. This “light” version is definitely lighter than the dark version, but it’s still heavier than most of the essential oils out there. Light vetiver has a really velvety and mysterious aura – almost a ghostly presence that is never screaming out loud but that you know is there in the shadows. It’s kind of a voodoo scent that will haunt you for a long long time.
    Wasn't sure what to expect-but i loved it!!

    Between the light and dark my favorite is dark. Light is a little more perfumy, whereas the dark has a stronger smokey scent. I, however, tend to like things more potent. I would like to try it in cp soap and see if it stays pretty dominant or if if tones it down any. I could definitely see this in a guys product.
    Smoky wood

    LOVE this oil. I wasn't sure what to expect, and ended up loving it. It smells smoky and woody without smelling like a fire. Great for masculine blends, and earthy/centering blends.
    Very satisfied!

    I enjoy this oil very much. It is very aromatic and does help soothe a persons nerves. I used this in a heart palpitation blend, and it worked like a charm for a couple of clients and myself when I was having a wee bit of anxiety from a jam packed schedule! Cant recommend this enough!

    This is my first experience with Vetiver and I must say, I'm hooked. It's smell reminds me of a forest after a rain. Not musty or moldy, but rather fresh and clean. Said to be a great base note and fixative for other scents and I look forward to blending a cologne with this oil.

    This is def one of my favorite oils. I can't even begin to explain the benefits of this oil. I am so looking forward to experimenting with this. When taking in the smell it is very powerful and beautiful. It relaxes you, give you..well me, a sense of confidence and relaxation. It's very sexy as well. It can be used for men as well as women. It does my skin justice as well. Helped heal my skin blemishes, blending with other essentials. Even used it by itself at times. I truly ADORE this oil! Thank you Camden...

    Thanks for browsing thru this section which contains answers to many questions that are often asked of us. Here we explain where to locate CofA and SDS for a product, how we dispense and package our products, how products should be stored, basic terminology and the wait time for bulk products to ship from our warehouse. FYI: We're closed on Fridays.

    Certificate of Analysis (CofA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS). We publish on our website those documents for most of our products, some products don't provide either because the product doesn't require it. In this same section where you're at now, look to the tab to the left titled Documents, click on it and that's where you'll find either document for the product you seek. If you do not find the document you require, please email us at customerservice@camdengrey.com so we can research further.

    BULK ITEMS: When a customer adds a bulk item to the cart, the customer’s immediately shown on the screen how many number of days should be allowed for the bulk product to arrive at our warehouse. If the bulk item happens to be in stock, we’ll ship sooner than the customer would expect. As we emerge from Covid, logistics operations are not yet back to normal, what used to arrive at our warehouse in 3 days now takes much longer. Should a vendor inform us the ordered product will take longer than what’s mentioned on our website we’ll email the customer with the latest information.

    TERMINOLOGY:

    EO = essential oil

    FO = fragrance oil

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

    Essential oils: in 1/32 oz. to 1/4 oz...amber glass vials with orifice reducers. ½ oz. to 2 oz...in amber glass bottles with white caps and Eurodroppers...3 to 4 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps and without orifice reducers...7 oz. in aluminum bottles...15 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps...10 & 25 lbs. in HDPE plastic containers with wide mouths although, occasionally, 25 lbs. may be dispensed in factory-issued metal containers with pouring spouts.

    28 lbs. of carrier oils and other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic gallon containers with handles, each holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

    30+ lbs. of carrier oils, other liquids, soft butters, Castile gel and other products are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles & pouring spouts in the lid; those products may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. After Covid, we reserve the right to use any packaging/dispensing container available to us and not mentioned above because it continues to be difficult many times to restock the same packaging container or material used in the past.

    NOTE: An EO may safely remain inside an aluminum container for up to 3 months, but if storing longer than 3 months the oil should be transferred to amber glass. Fragrances and carrier oils up to 8 lbs. may remain inside HDPE plastic bottles indefinitely. If the customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring a product to glass this should be done. ALL PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED BY WEIGHT, THUS, SOME CONTAINERS MAY BE FILLED HIGHER THAN OTHERS DEPENDING ON THE WEIGHT AND VISCOSITY OF EACH PRODUCT.

    Raw materials/ingredients are dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

    HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of the butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
