    Sold by weight in plastic bottles/jugs. This is how high quality virgin coconut oil really and truly smells! When you take a whiff of this virgin, pure oil you will be mentally transported to the Caribbean. This oil is processed by technology developed in Japan using a centrifuge and gravity. They harvest the coconut and the coconut milk is extracted by centrifuge with a density separator. When solid it is white, when liquid it is colorless.

    It has the most intoxicating coconut fragrance.......its texture is soft-solid with a creamy texture while at room temperature. Use straight on the skin, as lip balm, to blend with other fixed oils and essential oils, in creams and lotions. A favorite of those who like to tan without any protection. Use as a sexual lubricant or all over body oil, massage into the hair for a truly moisturizing treatment prior to shampooing.....use your imagination. In Ayurveda, coconut oil is used for its cooling properties by those with Pitta doshas both as a body massage oil and a hair and scalp oil to prevent thinning hair and premature greying. Slightly warm the oil prior to using it for body or hair/scalp massage. SAP value: 249-264 (Per vendor/manufacturer: This oil is food grade, processed in a gluten-free facility.)

    Country of origin: Philippines, Malaysia or Indonesia.   Botanical name: Coco nucifera

    I used this straight from the bottle after a bath or shower. It smells wonderful and absorbs in the skin so nicely. I even use this on my face sometimes, not everyday. will not leave you feeling greasy at all. Just smooth, soft, good smelling skin. It is a soft solid, so I just squeeze the bottle so some comes out the top. As soon as it touches your skin it starts to melt. I just enjoy the process of applying it. Is that wierd...lol. Will not ever be without this product.
    What a nut (oil)!

    Great coconut aroma from the container. Goes on smoothly, but doesn't absorb as deeply as some other oils. That could be an advantage in balms and extra-protection skin creams. The fresh coconut smell isn't overpowering on the skin, but provides a hint of luxury to the scent. Leaves skin feeling silky.

    This truly did smell marvellous when I opened it up; however, I used it in my cold process soapmaking (35% of oil mixture) and did not find that my soap retained the smell after curing. The texture of the soap was lovely, and it's very moisturizing.
    LOVE IT!!

    Coconut oil is THE best! I know that the most common use is in handmade cosmetics, but did you know it is excellent in cooking? It gives Chinese food a great flavor and it doesn't burn (vegetable oil burns at high temps thus creating excess carcinogens) at high temps. It is most deffinitely the "Jack of all trades" where oils are concerned.

    This oil is wonderful to work with and has a light coconut scent that disappears in cold process soap (doesn't fight with other fragrances). Makes a great lather and feel. Is also perfect as about 30% of a lip balm recipe - smooth and moisturizing. This is probably my most essential ingredient... and at a great price!

    I use this coconut oil as a moisturizer. I live in Las Vegas where it gets very dry. The product is a great moisturizer and the smell is amazing. I also apply it on my hands prior to doing a parafin wax treatment. You can also use it on your lips if they are dry.

    I have already used my entire 4 lbs of this and it is great! I used it in my cold process soapmaking, and also as a moisturizer directly on my skin. It smells fantastic and my soaps were luxuriously smooth. When I scoop it out, it's smoother than butter. I highly recommend this oil.

    Thanks for browsing thru this section which contains answers to many questions that are often asked of us. Here we explain where to locate CofA and SDS for a product, how we dispense and package our products, how products should be stored, basic terminology and the wait time for bulk products to ship from our warehouse. FYI: We're closed on Fridays.

    Certificate of Analysis (CofA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS). We publish on our website those documents for most of our products, some products don't provide either because the product doesn't require it. In this same section where you're at now, look to the tab to the left titled Documents, click on it and that's where you'll find either document for the product you seek. If you do not find the document you require, please email us at customerservice@camdengrey.com so we can research further.

    BULK ITEMS: When a customer adds a bulk item to the cart, the customer’s immediately shown on the screen how many number of days should be allowed for the bulk product to arrive at our warehouse. If the bulk item happens to be in stock, we’ll ship sooner than the customer would expect. As we emerge from Covid, logistics operations are not yet back to normal, what used to arrive at our warehouse in 3 days now takes much longer. Should a vendor inform us the ordered product will take longer than what’s mentioned on our website we’ll email the customer with the latest information.

    TERMINOLOGY:

    EO = essential oil

    FO = fragrance oil

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

    Essential oils: in 1/32 oz. to 1/4 oz...amber glass vials with orifice reducers. ½ oz. to 2 oz...in amber glass bottles with white caps and Eurodroppers...3 to 4 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps and without orifice reducers...7 oz. in aluminum bottles...15 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps...10 & 25 lbs. in HDPE plastic containers with wide mouths although, occasionally, 25 lbs. may be dispensed in factory-issued metal containers with pouring spouts.

    28 lbs. of carrier oils and other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic gallon containers with handles, each holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

    30+ lbs. of carrier oils, other liquids, soft butters, Castile gel and other products are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles & pouring spouts in the lid; those products may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. After Covid, we reserve the right to use any packaging/dispensing container available to us and not mentioned above because it continues to be difficult many times to restock the same packaging container or material used in the past.

    NOTE: An EO may safely remain inside an aluminum container for up to 3 months, but if storing longer than 3 months the oil should be transferred to amber glass. Fragrances and carrier oils up to 8 lbs. may remain inside HDPE plastic bottles indefinitely. If the customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring a product to glass this should be done. ALL PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED BY WEIGHT, THUS, SOME CONTAINERS MAY BE FILLED HIGHER THAN OTHERS DEPENDING ON THE WEIGHT AND VISCOSITY OF EACH PRODUCT.

    Raw materials/ingredients are dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

    HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of the butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
