    Botanical Name: Vetiveria zizanioides

    Plant Part: Root

    Country of Origin: Haiti

    Method of Extraction: Steam Distillation

Stainless steel distillation is what gives this 'light' oil a color that's lighter than in an oil not obtained thru SS distillation. Deep, smoky, earthy aroma. In aromatherapy, some people can barely tolerate the smell while others are affected quite deeply by its aroma which can be likened to the smell of a damp forest floor. This EO is considered antiseptic, aphrodisiac, sedative, nervine....a calming oil, excellent for stress and tension. Settles the nerves. May be useful in helping people ease off tranquilizers.

This oil is considered a classic for physical, mental and emotional burnout which may result in total exhaustion. On an emotional level, vetiver helps to soothe states of irritability, anger and hysteria. Vetiver is recommended for dry, dehydrated skin. May assist with acne. Its vulnerary and cicatrisant properties are utilized to prevent and reduce wrinkles and stretch marks during pregnancy. Said to cleanse the aura (the energy field around the body) and to strengthen the auric shield which can be instrumental in keeping out disease.

This EO is said to be very helpful in cases of mental and physical exhaustion. It assists with increasing blood flow which, thereby being able to alleviate muscular aches and pains. It is said to be a tonic to the reproductive system and its relaxing quality seems to have some effect on tension underlying sexual problems. Helpful in cases of insomnia. Blends well with frankincense, geranium, grapefruit, jasmine, lavender, rose, sandalwood and ylang ylang. Flash point: 240F.

    Incredible depth and value

This Vetiver has a smell of dry earth, green sandalwood, fresh green moss, frankincense, myrrh, honey, fresh-cut grass and dewey sunrise (if that had a scent) all in one! It simultaneously awakens you and seems to slip your mind into instant alpha brain waves - excellent for meditation, writing, healing, pranayama or any creative work you can imagine. I'm not brave enough to try using it on my facial skin yet, as I am sticking with oils like sandalwood and others that I know help my skin already, but suffice to say, this is a VERY high quality vetiver essential oil at a very good price. I'm impressed, & I'm not easily impressed in the essential oil realm!
    Intensely smoky vetiver

I've smelled many vetivers and this is tied for best. Unusually sharp-smoky quality makes it ideal for masculine fragrances - doesn't have the sweet/round topnote of Indian vetivers. Dark, deep, and tenacious. If you haven't smelled vetiver and are reading this, you should try this one. As usual, CG offers great value.
    Perfect woody base

This Vetiver is the one that really got me hooked! I now use it in most products from face serum to liquid soap and I'm now working with it in both masculine and feminine colognes. I find it just rounds everything out so well, it's become my base note go-to. The combination with rosewood is a new favorite of mine.

Vetiver is a favorite EO of mine. As is well known, it is used extensively in the fragrance industries as a long-lasting, spicy, oriental, woody base note in many parfum and cologne blends. It is typically used in "masculine" formulations but also works very well in "feminine" blends when used sparingly and in conjunction with floral, citrus and green notes. This particular version is a favorite of my favorites. Haitian vetiver has a slightly smoky character but it seems much less intense than the sometimes overwhelming smokiness of Indonesion vetiver. CG also offers it at the most competitive price I've found from a public online source. Love it!

This is a very strong earthy scent. The smell appears to have a combination of earth and smells of green plants. Not a stand- alone scent! But combined wtih other essential oils - it's very pleasing. I use this for my 'manly' soaps. Combined with Cedarwood and sage, it's a great bass note.
    Great for stretch marks!

I got this to put in my stretch mark and face creams and am very pleased with it for therapeutic purposes. Not a scent I'd seek out, but it does good things for you!

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

Essential oils: Are sold only in the quantities/net weights listed on our website. These oils are shipped to us by the distiller or manufacturer in industry-standard metal or plastic containers and that’s how we ship them to you.

Carrier oils and most other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic pails or containers with some type of handle, each container holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

Soft butters such as Horsetail and Almond are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles; those butters may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. Hard butters such as Cocoa are dispensed factory-wrapped in plastic and placed inside a box. Castile Gel is dispensed in a self-contained cubitainer with pouring spout.

NOTE: While the packaging methods mentioned above are generalized, we reserve the right to dispense and ship in any available container. If a customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring an essential or carrier oil to glass, this should be done.

Raw materials/ingredients are sold and dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces are in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs and FOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames and from varnished or wood surfaces. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of a butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
