    Botanical Name: Cananga odorata

    Plant Part: Flower

    Country of Origin: Comoros Isl.

    Method of Extraction: Steam Distillation

The aroma of Ylang Ylang is sweet, floral and heavy. There are several grades of this essential oil. The large flowers of Ylang Ylang are subjected to fractional steam distillation, yielding, in succession, ylang-ylang extra, I, II, and III. The grades (Extra, I, II and III) indicate from which fraction of the steam distillation process the oil was obtained. Ylang Ylang III is an excellent oil for aromatherapy and soapmaking.

Ylang Ylang relaxes and arouses; in Europe, therapists use this oil for sexual dysfunction. Eases frigidity and impotence. It is said to be antidepressant, antiseptic, aphrodisiac and sedative. Excessive use may lead to headaches and nausea. Could possibly irritate sensitive skins and is indicated against use on inflammatory skin conditions and dermatitis. Could well ease feelings of anger, anxiety, shock, panic and fear. Useful with rapid breathing and heartbeat; its sedative properties could help bring down high blood pressure. Soothes anger. Has a tonic and stimulating effect on the scalp promoting a more luxurious hair growth.

Blends well with bergamot, citronella, jasmine, lavender, lemon, rose, sandalwood and verbena. Flash point: 167F.  PR-REV080525

So, I'm not a huge flower scent lady; I love mainly earthy scents and although I've never been a huge ylang ylang fan, I decided to purchase it, because I know a lot of my customers would like this in their blends. And as a matter of fact, I like it much more now too, as it's a great floral base note. On it's own it's too intense for me, but a few drops of this ylang ylang with some earthier EO's and peppermint, can make a really lovely scent. On the scale of how this ylang ylang compares to more expensive brands: I'd say it's an equal match!

All of my clients have enjoyed it very much. It is a very soft and delicate floral and just oh so lovely and sweet! This is a great medicinal and a very romantic oil for perfumery as well! I am not a fan of Jasmine EO so I wasn't sure if I would like this, but it is a gorgeous scent. I got it to add some sweetness to a perfume oil I am developing that has a base of patchouli and sandalwood and smells a little too masculine for what I was going for. It was the perfect addition. I have ordered from several companies since starting my soap business but Camden Grey far exceeds their competition in terms of service, quality, and price. Thank you once again CG for offereing such great products at fair prices. You will continue to be my first choice for all my business needs-you guys rock!

The most wonderful Ylang! I spilled a tiny bit when I first opened the bottle and was a bit disappointed at first; however, I have to say that my house smelled amazing from just those few drops being spilled. I actually just sat down and took in the "moment". I just realized I only have a few drops left and won't even consider another company for Ylang. This One Smells Heavenly!!
    Beautiful floral scent...

This oil is just as unique as it's name. The scent is simply beautiful. I love it in my solid perfumes and hair spritzers. The best ylang-ylang that I've come across to date! Thank you Camden-Grey.

This is a heavenly ylang ylang eo. It is hard to describe: light as well as being full of body and just such a pretty, heady, beautiful, feminine experience...it is easy to see how this eo can be a euphoric. This puts me over the moon! and makes me happy.
    Thoroughly addictive!

I can hardly say more. Not expecting to love this so much, I first ordered a relatively small quantity. Now I'm back for more. I find it's especially intoxicating blended with rosewood, lavender and a bit of patchouli--a great floral musk.

I will never, ever buy Ylang Ylang II or III ever again after smelling 'the good stuff' - second and third distillations can not hold a candle to the quality of this first distillation oil. Truly, they smell like two totally different plants altogether. If you want to experience what a true Ylang Ylang flower really smells like, you need to buy this oil.

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

Essential oils: Are sold only in the quantities/net weights listed on our website. These oils are shipped to us by the distiller or manufacturer in industry-standard metal or plastic containers and that’s how we ship them to you.

Carrier oils and most other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic pails or containers with some type of handle, each container holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

Soft butters such as Horsetail and Almond are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles; those butters may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. Hard butters such as Cocoa are dispensed factory-wrapped in plastic and placed inside a box. Castile Gel is dispensed in a self-contained cubitainer with pouring spout.

NOTE: While the packaging methods mentioned above are generalized, we reserve the right to dispense and ship in any available container. If a customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring an essential or carrier oil to glass, this should be done.

Raw materials/ingredients are sold and dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces are in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs and FOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames and from varnished or wood surfaces. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of a butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
