Reviewer: Nina Darnowsky (san antonio, TX)

I use this EO with lavender EO, rosemary EO and a hint of patchouli to make a bug-repelling soap for the summertime. The citronella on its own in the bottle is strong enough to give me a headache, but in the blend in the soap it adds a sweet summery scent to the blend and definitely reminds me of campouts and summer BBQs. It's great to have a natural alternative to spray-on chemicals to deter bugs.

I used a combo of this citronella and camden grey cedar atlas and eucalyptus essential oils to make a wonderful camping bug repelling soap. I feel better using essential oils that are natural compared with chemicals like deet. Also works great for the dog! Thinking about making a spray with the same combo.

Very strong, distict astringent-like aroma, anyone who has ever smelled it will know it instantly. Works best with other strong scents, otherwise it will simply overpower them. I like it with Peppermint or Sweet Orange, also works good in Pine Tar CP Soap.

I make a natural 'bug off' blend that I put on the kids with this and it works great! I also use it in summertime soap to help keep the skeeters at bay! It even helps when put on a cotton ball and rubbed on the front door frame and screen to discourage mosquitoes from coming in with the kids!
