    Botanical Name: Mentha piperita

    Plant Part: Leaf

    Country of Origin: France

    Method of Extraction: Steam Distillation

    This oil’s aroma is strongly piercing, refreshing, minty and very herbaceous. Among its properties are: Cooling, analgesic, antispasmodic, anesthetic, decongestant, emmenagogue, expectorant, febrifuge, insecticide and stimulant. Should be kept away from eyes, likely to irritate skin and mucous membranes. Best avoided by pregnant women and nursing mothers as it could discourage flow of milk. May antidote homeopathic remedies.

    Helps people become clear headed and refreshes the spirits. Helpful for people who are unable to concentrate or who have mental fatigue. Said to relieve states of anger, hysteria and nervous trembling, excellent for depression.

    On the body, it has a dual action: cooling when hot and warming when cold. As a remedy for colds, it halts mucous and fevers and encourages perspiration. Extremely important for its effect on the digestive system (1 drop on a sugar cube or on a teaspoon of honey).

    Has a slightly anesthetic effect on stomach muscles. Good for travel sickness, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, colic, nausea and to keep drivers alert while on the road. Its cooling and pain relieving action seems to ease headaches, migraines and toothaches. Used in liniments for the relief of muscle pain, lumbago, bruises, joint pain and insect bites. Can be used to relieve any kind of skin irritation or itching but should be used in a dilution of 1% or less or the irritation could be made worse. Not much liked by insects and vermin, great for getting rid of ants and rodents. Blends well with cedarwood, cypress, lavender, niaouli and pine. Flash point: 163.4F. Cannot ship via via air, ocean or to a freight forwarder. UN #3082, (Environmentally Hazardous Substance, Liquid, N.O.S.) packing group III, class 9.

    This is hands down one of my favorite essential oils. It is so exhilarating! Again, Camden-Grey's essential oils are so potent so a little goes a long way. A favorite blend with the peppermint is eucalyptus and lemon.

    This is by far my favorite peppermint EO. It smells exactly like a candy cane. It's wonderful for stimulating my customer's hair growth & soothing sore muscles with a nice cooling sensation. I always sell lots of it in summer. GREAT product!

    Wow! The spiders and bugs just Do Not like this oil! Ho-Ho-Ho!!! I loved seeing them flee. Just dilute with alcohol and water, then spray where you don't want them. Easy as that. The Peppermint scent helps to give you a bit of pep also!

    Of the 3 types of peppermint oil I bought, this one is by far my favorite. It has the classic peppermint smell, strong and a bit sweet.

    We always keep peppermint eo on hand - use it in soaps and lip balms, and it is always in the blend I make to put in the vaporizer for when someone in the family is struggling with congestion - diffused in the vaporizer it REALLY helps one to sleep better when congested! Good price for a necessary oil, thank you CG.

    Love this oil! Great benefits! Works for my scalp & hair. Mainly for my skin I use this in my scrubs. Next I will try in lip balm. Helps with stomach aches, nausea. Even helped me when I ate too much, didn't give me much of over fullness after. Definitely great to use for alertness. Helped with my toothache as well. Oh yeah only tried France and India version so far. And this has more of a sweetness to me. But both are great!
    Delightful!

    This smells so lovely, it's sweet and pure. tastes good and makes my skin tingle. My favorite use for it is mixing it with tea tree oil and almond oil and using it as a conditioning treatment for my hair. This also works well on dandruff.

    Just like the Spearmint EO offered on this site, the Peppermint EO is exactly what you want and expect. It is powerful enough that you only need to use a little (hard to do, because it smells so good!), but never comes off as "too much". I did notice with both this and the Spearmint EO if you use more than needed you get a tingling sensation on your skin - but it's not unpleasant, and can be remedied by using the correct amount. I am very pleased and can't find anything wrong with it. To me, it smells like a top quality Starlight Mint (without the sugar).

    Thanks for browsing thru this section which contains answers to many questions that are often asked of us. Here we explain where to locate CofA and SDS for a product, how we dispense and package our products, how products should be stored, basic terminology and the wait time for bulk products to ship from our warehouse. FYI: We're closed on Fridays.

    Certificate of Analysis (CofA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS). We publish on our website those documents for most of our products, some products don't provide either because the product doesn't require it. In this same section where you're at now, look to the tab to the left titled Documents, click on it and that's where you'll find either document for the product you seek. If you do not find the document you require, please email us at customerservice@camdengrey.com so we can research further.

    BULK ITEMS: When a customer adds a bulk item to the cart, the customer’s immediately shown on the screen how many number of days should be allowed for the bulk product to arrive at our warehouse. If the bulk item happens to be in stock, we’ll ship sooner than the customer would expect. As we emerge from Covid, logistics operations are not yet back to normal, what used to arrive at our warehouse in 3 days now takes much longer. Should a vendor inform us the ordered product will take longer than what’s mentioned on our website we’ll email the customer with the latest information.

    TERMINOLOGY:

    EO = essential oil

    FO = fragrance oil

    HOW PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED...

    BOTTLING/PACKAGING:

    Essential oils: in 1/32 oz. to 1/4 oz...amber glass vials with orifice reducers. ½ oz. to 2 oz...in amber glass bottles with white caps and Eurodroppers...3 to 4 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps and without orifice reducers...7 oz. in aluminum bottles...15 oz. in amber glass bottles with black caps...10 & 25 lbs. in HDPE plastic containers with wide mouths although, occasionally, 25 lbs. may be dispensed in factory-issued metal containers with pouring spouts.

    28 lbs. of carrier oils and other liquids are dispensed in individual HDPE plastic gallon containers with handles, each holds the purchased net weight of liquid.

    30+ lbs. of carrier oils, other liquids, soft butters, Castile gel and other products are dispensed in plastic HDPE pails w/metal handles & pouring spouts in the lid; those products may remain inside the pails indefinitely when properly stored. After Covid, we reserve the right to use any packaging/dispensing container available to us and not mentioned above because it continues to be difficult many times to restock the same packaging container or material used in the past.

    NOTE: An EO may safely remain inside an aluminum container for up to 3 months, but if storing longer than 3 months the oil should be transferred to amber glass. Fragrances and carrier oils up to 8 lbs. may remain inside HDPE plastic bottles indefinitely. If the customer at any time feels more comfortable transferring a product to glass this should be done. ALL PRODUCTS ARE DISPENSED BY WEIGHT, THUS, SOME CONTAINERS MAY BE FILLED HIGHER THAN OTHERS DEPENDING ON THE WEIGHT AND VISCOSITY OF EACH PRODUCT.

    Raw materials/ingredients are dispensed by weight. Many customers ask how many ounces in a pound, there are 16 ounces in one pound. These are not fluid ounces, they are ounces by weight.

    HOW TO STORE: EOs, FOs and BUTTERS should be stored in tightly-sealed containers away from direct light and heat. Some EOs could be highly flammable, keep away from open flames. Keep all liquids and powders you purchase from Camden-Grey tightly capped and away from the reach of children, the elderly or infirm and pets. Refrigerating butters could adversely affect the consistency of the butter, please join our Forum if you need to learn how to handle, work with and store products.
